On a cold, blustery December day in Maine, I went to find my friend up on UMaine campus. It turns out I had the wrong day. The UMaine football team was playing in the national playoffs, and campus was packed. As I prepared myself to drive back through all the traffic, I noticed an eagle soaring high up above. He gradually circled closer to me, and after considerable fiddling with my camera settings, I learned that a 5 second exposure at ISO 800 with self-timer is not the ideal way to photograph an eagle. Luckily I only tried one exposure like that and then actually *looked* at my camera's settings (it was hard to take my eyes off this beautiful bird). Go UMaine!

Finally got a good shot, perfect timing. Ladies head is in the way, its whatever though. I ended up shaking his hand. I told him it was my birthday (it was) and asked him, "if he would please shake my hand." He did

My ex-husband once found out the polar bears have black skin and then proceeded to bore everyone he encountered for about two years (really, everyone) with that fact. He'd say, "do you know what color skin polar bears have"? They'd say, "I don't know, why"? He'd say "Black! Polar bears have BLACK SKIN". They'd just look at him like, "so"? and he would smile smugly.
