The event was held in front of the U.S. Capitol Building on the east end of the National Mall in Washington D.C. and drew approximately 215,000 thousand people. The Rally application for a permit to the National Park Service listed they hoped for an attendance at the combined event of about 25,000 people. Ah, some relaxation. Emily called about dinner as I got back home from work. Specifically she wanted to tell me they'd be eating without me. In a snap decision I SWERVED into the KFC parking lot and loaded up on tasty fried horror. I then plopped down in front of the TV and caught up on my Daily Show and Colbert. I should just start calling them my stories.

As soon as they were over, I cram edited through another episode of NLE--2 days early this time! Woohoo!

Comedian Stephen Colbert during a rally with former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain at the College of Charleston on January 20, 2012 in Charleston, South Carolina. Colbert held the event with Cain, titled Rock Me Like a Herman Cain South Cain-olina Primary Rally, as part of his pseudo-run for president of The United States of South Carolina.

This was taken by one of our staffers. Another of our staffers, Lisa Gilbert, is quoted in this article re: why it is so great Stephen Colbert is drawing attention to the money politics connection and how his petition could have real election law implications: pubc.it/ColPacP511

This is the lead trumpeter. Stephen Colbert saw them at the Richmond Olympic Oval when he was cheering on Shani Davis in his gold-medal winning skate. Asked them to perform at Day #2 taping.

To get around the IOC's draconian licensing rules, The Colbert Report called its Vancouver 2010 Olympic shows: "Exclusive Vancouverage of the 2010/Quadrennial Cold Weather Athletic Competition/Defeat the World! " It's very similar to what LuluLemon called its non-authorized clothing line: "Cool Sporting Event That Takes Place in British Columbia Between 2009 & 2011 Edition"

When I couldn't move any further toward the stage through the crowd, I asked a tall man to hold up my camera to get a shot of the crowd. Thank you, kind sir.
