Greater Stitchwort, this wildflower is widespread and very common throughout Britain and Ireland. Greater Stitchwort can be found in northern and central mainland European countries, too.
It has a variable depth of notches at the tips of each of its five white petals. The flowers are typically 2 to 3 cm in diameter.

One of my favourite wildflowers. These look good on their own but they are sociable fellows really, and it's one of the joys of spring to see a group of them dancing in the breeze on a grassy bank.
