After I purchased Chiffon Ball Gown Barbie, I have been on the hunt for the "perfect" copy and I finally found one (on Ebay) and she arrived the other day. I was not too happy with the one I received as she had a lot of flaws and wow I can see the difference when I compared the two! My replacement has better hair, better eyes, she has that shine on her face that makes her glow which is actually something that I always look for in a doll. In the past I would buy multiple copies of the same doll and I would pick the ones with the shiny vinyl because I noticed that some copies have matte vinyl heads and somehow they're less attractive to me and I've seen a lot of pictures of Chiffon Ball Gown and most of them have matte heads. I am so happy right now I found the one and I am in love with her. I think she's adorable and so chic and so elegant. I am obsessed with her!... and she fits right in with my precious Barbie Basics.

Morning light shall burst bright and keep us here safely

It’s that time of the year again! I’ve been in Barbie land lately with the abundance of dolls recently released by Barbie Collector. So, it’s time for a group shot once again. First is Black and White Collection™ Beaded Gown. The doll I’ve been looking forward to since the year started and she has finally arrived. Another doll who I’m looking forward to is 2013 Holiday Barbie™ African-American. The first Holiday doll to have the new Pazette mold. Love the way she is styled and surprisingly I am loving her gown. Another doll who I think will fit in my collection if redressed is Global Glamour™ Collection Tribal Beauty™ who has the Pazette mold as well. I would love to give her bangs based from the edited pic I did a while back. I haven’t bought ANY of The Barbie Look™ City Shopper™ Dolls yet, but will eventually get them maybe one doll each month. City Shopper™ AA Mbili for sure have been on my radar from the get go as seeing her with a long hair was an improvement from her short haired Basics 2.0 version. Although I’m not sure of the highlights on her hair. They are too precise which look like a striped pattern. Wasn't a fan of City Shopper™ Blonde Steffie’s hair from the start either. Maybe because I don’t like it when Steffies show their foreheads so I’m planning on restyling her hair. Speaking of so-so hair, City Shopper™ Brunette Mackie, although refreshing to see brunette… not sure of her hairstyle as well. The one I’m excited about, except for her shoes, is City Shopper™ Blonde Lara because I recently found out that even though her prototype has the Basics 2.0 Model No. 2 Lara face design on the promos, her production version actually has the Basics 1.0 Lara face design which was the same case for Basics Target Red Model No. 2 AA Lara. The 1.0 Lara face design was miles better than the 2.0 face design. Okay... Moving on. The mystery articulated Kens that I’ve been anticipating since last year were finally revealed and they are the Texas A&M University Ken® Dolls. I’m actually happy that they are at least cheerleaders and not fantasy dolls because they can be easily redressed (and undressed:D) and for their price they’re not that far from their Basics versions so they are total must-haves especially AA Ken as this is the first time we see him articulated. Definitely over the moon! And finally, Malibu Barbie® Doll By Trina Turk who I fell in love with the moment I saw her promos. She really is a dream doll for me as I’ve been wanting Malibu Barbie® to be revisited and to be given an update. I wanted to make my own in the form of Pink In Pantone® Barbie® in TBL’s Poolside Fashion but an official Mattel release was more than I could ever imagine. Another doll in swimsuit? Well hello, It’s Malibu Barbie®!

UPDATED: 11/23/13

Here's the second half of the dolls on my expanding Wishlist for this year. I really liked Stephen Burrows Alazne™ Barbie®, and I still do despite the fact that she doesn't have any rooted hair or flocking, or even if she has a disappointing hole in her head. She still has the pontential, and a makeover is in order for her. One of the big surprises this year is Coach Barbie®. I can see firsthand the amount of detail that went into making this doll and I'm glad I was able to get her before she sold out. This year Barbie Collector offered yet another K Mart Exclusive. A red haired version of the 2013 Holiday Barbie™ and I think she looks exceptional! One of the fiercest Barbies of the year is The Blonds Blond Gold Barbie®. This must-have doll is a follow up to last year's doll from the designer duo. A no-brainer. She's coming home with me! Now I'm not really a fan of celebrity or Hollywood themed dolls, in fact there's really no place for them in my collection until... Jennifer Lopez Red Carpet! I'm really impressed by Mattel for making an effort to create a face sculpt in her likeness. Despite what people's perception is of this doll, I really think that Mattel nailed it. I think the face is spot on! Just when I thought no more Kens will be released this year, Mattel released two more (not to mention articulated) male dolls, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Finnick and Peeta. I do think the dolls from the movie franchise has set a landmark for Hollywood themed dolls at Barbie Collector by giving them new face sculpts. In the past, BC would use pre-existing sculpts and would usually do a face paint trick that left their celeb dolls disappointing. BC has turned up the volume and did exceptional this year... And speaking of exceptional, Hervé Léger by Max Azria Barbie® has won me over by her edgy styling and winner accessories! A doll that was meant to be redredressed, she comes with another set of ensemble in a black and white jacquard dress. An homage to Barbie's signature bathing suit from her debut in 1959. Of course I'm also over-the-moon by her bleached-eyebrows! She is truly one fierce Barbie and I can't wait to have her in my hands.

Paola - Hispanic Barbie

Outfit - Recreated Angel Face outfit

Shoes - Her original pair

Him - Hispanic Crystal Ken in original outfit

Her - misc Hispanic Barbie in 80s fashion

Fun fact - her roller set came out great but left big light socket hair, so I had to leave on her hairnet!

As expected, I’m back again with more doll purchases! Ok, I know I said previously that Model #4 is my last doll for Collection 2.0 but I can’t resist but to add another Steffie to my collection…and of course if there’s a Sale going on, I show up. LOL. BB Model #3 was purchased at Ross for $9.99. I think I’m gonna buy Lara too sometime in the coming weeks. Hoping she’s still available. I’m crossing my fingers. Ooh! I finally got Elvis Barbie for $15 with $10 shipping fee on eBay. I was supposed to buy both Elvis and Sinatra when I was at TRU last October for the BOGO sale but I backed out because at that time I did not like Elvis. I could have save $20. Darn! I later realized that I do like her face. I do not like the Aphrodite sculpt that much unless she has smoky eyes or arched eyebrows which basically make up for the softness of the sculpt. All the Aphrodites in the Basics line did not make the cut for me. Although, the blonde Aphrodite from the Dancing with the Stars line might be an exception… Hmmm. The only model from the first wave of Target exclusive Red Collection that I want is BB Model #8 because I want an afro version of Xania. She is from eBay, purchased for $12 with $4 shipping…and last but certainly not the least, ooh! I’m excited for this, is Glimmer of Gold Barbie! I am her sole bidder. Which is funny because some listings would have 17 bidders and the price would reach past $200, while in this listing I was the only one who was bidding. I won her for $130 and $14 shipping. That is actually a low price granted most sellers sell Glimmers from $200-400. So I caved in and jumped at the chance. I can’t believe I have her this early. She is sooo beautiful I can’t handle it! I love her Marchesa cocktail dress. I do believe she’s one of the most beautiful Barbies ever produced. Reminds me so much of supermodel Daria Werbowy. Perfection! Just perfection!

I have high hopes for 2012. This is the first half of my wishlist. First are the Barbie Basics 3.0 Swimsuit Collection. When it comes to the Basics, I'm not a completist. I'll just purchase the girls who I think are the fiercest. I recently got Model # 8, a gift from a friend. She's on top of the list so she has to be the first. LOL. Next is Barbie ♥ Jonathan Adler. I don't necessarily like the doll but I love anything Jonathan Adler. Love the dress and the miniature accessories that comes with her. This will of course go with the Barbie ♥ Jonathan Adler Happy Chic Set that I bought for $14 at the BC.com that is still remained unopened. Next is Barbie Basics Red Target Exclusive Model # 3 The only one from the collection that is missing. I waited for so long, now she cost so much her original price...And finally Pink In PANTONE Barbie. I was on the fence on getting her at first because I'm not really sold on the dress. I love the doll because she looks like a quintessential Barbie and I really love the platinum hair. To me, she seem like a modern version of Malibu Barbie. Also she reminded me of Versace Barbie because of her tanned skin. She's not as cartoony as the Jonathan Adler doll. Both look like a typical Barbie doll, but Pantone is more chic for me.

I’ve given up. I’ve given in. I’m so glad Target restocked the exclusives last month. I finally found my Barbie Basics Collection Red Model # 3 Steffie today. It’s so hard getting the Target exclusives with good eyes. I have searched far and wide for the perfect Steffie but alas, most of them are meh! The one I got is almost perfect if only for her right eye. But I guess I’ll settle for her but I’m not stopping until I find the perfect one. I’m still happy I got her. I think she’s cute. At least she’s not crossed-eyed. I was sooo on the fence with both Barbie Basics 3.0 Models # 5 and # 7. They did not appeal to me. I only fell in love with them when I took them out of the packaging. I wasn’t supposed to get Model # 5 because she’s so similar to the previous collection, but I realized that a tanned Asian Barbie doll with short hair is kinda rare. I got the one with good eyes. Model # 7 was never on my wish list. To me she is the most under appreciated. The color Orange is not my favorite. I think she’ll look amazing when her hair is restyled. Check out her arms!!! I only noticed that when I took her out of the packaging. She is designed with the newer hand on hip arms but mine has the older one. Interesting. I was worried at first but then I realized that these older arms are easier when redressing the doll. I know she’s not body swapped because her nail polish is the same color as her lipstick. So I guess I won’t worry too much about that.

Ohemgee!!! After 2,000 years of searching, I finally found Barbie Basics Red Model # 3 with good eyes! This makes me happy! (I'm such a dork). Overall, she has better screening than the one I bought before. This Steffie has more of a "pearlescent" lips while the other has just glossy red lips. I'm keeping both by the way. Toodles!

My new Steffie from the Target Red collection. I really love her more than I thought I would ^_^ Retro_freak helped me make a decision between getting her instead of the kiss of pink basics steffie.

However, her hair looked SO BAD. I got her on Amazon prime so I didn\'t get to see her beforehand. I had to just boil wash it down, it was a true mess.

But I like her a lot, I think her baby face juxtaposed with such mature makeup is unique. She reminds me of Betty Paige. I\'m not sure if I\'m going to name her Kitty, Lolita, or Paige :p
