Steel wool and multiple triggers of flash+blue gel for the colours, and huge thanks to @jwestie (Instagram) for how still he was over the duration of the exposure...

In August I posted a photo of the unique wood stave flowline from a hydroelectric project in Grace Idaho. It is gradually being replaced by this steel flowline which diverts water from Bear River to a hyroelectric dam downstream. In this photo, the huge pipe full of Bear River water crosses the Bear River. After being used to generate power the water will end up back in the Bear River again.
After a meeting at Amersfoort I decided to drlve home via the Amsterdam Westhaven. There was some activity: I saw an RRF container train, the arrival of the Czech steel train, a switching TCS engine and Railpro 603.

Rivets and steel.
It was a concept conceived in 1915, its design was altered in 1922 and the bridge that today crosses the Clarence River in Grafton was commenced in 1927 and completed in 1932.
The original intention was to build a railway bridge with a footway for pedestrian traffic however this design was later amended to cater for vehicular traffic.
Private tenderers were invited to submit quotes for the construction of the bridge however it was considered by the New South Wales Public Works Department that the tenders were excessively high and therefore the decision was reached whereby the construction would be undertaken by the Public Works Department.
The steel work was provided by Clyde Engineering.
On 19 July 1932 the steel bridge that spanned the Clarence River was officially opened by Sir Isaac Isaacs the Australian Governor-General.

There are several of these yellow steel bridges in Pittsburgh. I liked the lines.

Space Flower by Joanne Risley at Beaulieu Estate Sculpture Exhibition.
From the artist's page:
" Space Flower" is the third of a group of outdoor sculptures I created in response to the geo-political situation we find ourselves in. This geometric Cor-ten steel sculpture was inspired by exotic flowers and space craft. It has a "transformer" like appearance and makes me think of spyware and bots.
Located in Southwind Park, Springfield Illinois.. The structure is designed to resemble the original steel arches that were part of the 1893 Colombian Exposition in Chicago and then were moved to the four corners of what is now the Springfield Old Capitol Plaza after 1900.
No this is not Battlestar Galactica :-) ...it is probably the most importaint bridge of my home town, disappering into mist.
A metal sculpture of a seamstress by local artist Edgardo Carmona Vergara is on Plaza de San Pedro Claver in Cartagena, Colombia. Carmona uses a technique called "Steel Assembly" consisting of the elaboration of multiple parts.
And when you're a photographer they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the bolts, You can do anything...
And I like it!
USSX 1244 is still alive and kicking at the old Granite City Steel plant. I'm not sure what activities are still happening around the plant but it appears that finished coiled steel is still being shipped. 1244 was as elusive as ever making a poke across Madison Street by TJ's Place - but not quite out of that shadow!
