As dusk settles on a late November afternoon, the iconic Forth Bridge is bathed in a warm, golden light, its intricate steel lattice standing out against the deep blue twilight sky over the Firth of Forth. This photograph, taken from South Queensferry near Edinburgh, Scotland, captures a commuter train making its way across the historic structure.
In the background, the modern cable-stayed Queensferry Crossing and the suspension-style Forth Road Bridge are also visible, presenting a unique view of three bridges from three different centuries side-by-side.
The Forth Bridge, a cantilever railway bridge, was opened in 1890 and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It remains a celebrated symbol of Victorian engineering and continues to serve as a vital rail link connecting Edinburgh with Fife and the north of Scotland.
