There is something about the old steel water towers that has drawn my attention. I'm not exactly sure what it is.

True Story: I was shooting at Fort Lee Historic Park with a friend Late Night getting some shots of The GWB illuminated Pink for Awareness of Breast Cancer and ended up getting stopped by the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police and received to Tickets... Tresspassing which carries a $35 fine and another ticket for Creating A Hazardous Condition $75. Go Figure!!! I ask is the picture worth $110?

London Eye is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the the whole United Kingdom, visited by more than 3 million people annually. It is a Ferris wheel, with a total height of 135 meters from the ground, with the wheel having a diameter of 120 meters. It set the ground for the construction of such tall Ferris wheel as tourist attractions, being the tallest such Ferris Wheel (until being surpassed by the 2 Asian based Ferris wheels - the Star of Nanchang and the Singapore Flyer - with the Singapore Flyer having a total height of 165 meters). When it was constructed, it provided the highest viewing point in London, until a higher observation point was created in another building, The Shard.

The London Eye is located on the southern banks of the Thames, located near to Jubilee Gardens, and between the Hungerford Bridge and the Westminster Bridge on the Thames. The London Eye is supported by a A-Frame on one of its sides, different from the support structures of the other high Ferris Wheels. Given its location, the river played a central part during construction. Sections of the wheel were assembled in place and then the whole structure was slowly moved up from the horizontal position to its current vertical position. The London Eye provides a total of 32 air-conditioned capsules, and each capsule holds 25 people (although capsules can be booked for special purposes, most often done on Valentine's Day where couples can book an entire capsule). The entire rotation of the wheel takes 30 minutes.

The London Eye was inaugrated in December 1999, and opened to the public in March 2000 (after it got over some initial technical problems). The London Eye is accessible through the closed London Underground station of Waterloo. For those visiting, boat rides on the River Thames also start from nearby.

As the tallest ferris wheel in Canada, it was opened to the public on September 1, 2017, to celebrate the city of Montreal's 375th anniversary.

 

Its construction cost $28,000,000 CDN and was paid by private investors.

 

It is a Ferris wheel model WS60 (White Series 60 metres) from the Dutch Wheels Company (Vekoma Group) with a height of 60 metres (200 feet) and comprised of 42 passenger units, each of which can fit 8 persons for a total capacity of 336 passengers. A ride last 20 minutes.

Steel erectors bolting an overhanging section in to place

LMS Coronation Pacific No 46223 "Duchess of Sutherland" passing the soon to be redundant Stirling Middle signalbox with the "75th Anniversary Special" express from Perth to Sheffield on 7th September 2013. Typically, these locomotives spent their long working lives hurrying similar, heavy expresses along this road. The historic semaphore signals are of Caledonian Railway origin and are doomed to be replaced with a new colourlight system. The re-signalling works are proceeding apace, so this is likely to be the final record, here, embracing such delightfully apposite subjects. (Please view F11 in lightbox for intended best.)

Kuala Lumpur Railway Station (Malay: Stesen Keretapi Kuala Lumpur) is a train station located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Completed in 1910 to replace an older station on the same site, the station was Kuala Lumpur's railway hub in the city for the Federated Malay States Railway and Malayan Railway (Malay: Keretapi Tanah Melayu), before Kuala Lumpur Sentral assumed much of the its role in 2001. The station is notable for its architecture, adopting a mixture of Eastern and Western designs.

 

The station is located along a road named Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, previously known as Victory Avenue, which in turn was part of Damansara Road. The station is located closely to the similarly designed Railway Administration Building, or better known as KTM Building
