60019 'Bittern' passes Moorgates on the 3rd May 2010.
It is incredible how much interest this Great Steam Locomotive can generate on her reappearance in her Wartime livery of matt black. The interaction between the many people present and the Locomotive drew my attention. Built in 1923 she will be 100 years old next year

Heading out for the first excursion run of the day, 3237 turns on a great display for the trackside photographers.
This is another one of those images that jumped out while redoing my archives: a capture of one of three locomotives of the wonderfully nostalgic Jacobite trainwaiting for more passengers.

Voordat we naar Plandampf 'Dampf trifft Kies III' in het Werratal gingen, verbleven mijn vader en ik nog drie dagen in de Harz, om daar alvast van stoom te kunnen genieten bij de HSB. De Selketalbahn is in mijn ogen een van de mooiste lijntjes waar met gemak de trein is te volgen en veel mooie foto's gemaakt kunnen worden. Maar ook de Harzquerbahn en Wernigerode werden bezocht.
Before we went to Plandampf 'Dampf trifft Kies III' in the Werrtal valley, my father and I stayed in the Harz for three more days to enjoy some steam at the HSB. The Selketalbahn is in my opinion one of the most beautiful lines where you can easily follow the train and many beautiful pictures can be taken. But the Harzquerbahn and Wernigerode were also visited.
Bevor wir zu Plandampf 'Dampf trifft Kies III' ins Werrtal fuhren, blieben mein Vater und ich noch drei Tage im Harz, um an der HSB Dampf zu genießen. Die Selketalbahn ist meiner Meinung nach eine der schönsten Strecken auf der man dem Zug bequem folgen kann und viele schöne Bilder gemacht werden können. Aber auch die Harzquerbahn und Wernigerode wurden besucht.

The 'Great Race'. 4 steam locomotives running from Hanbury Jcn to Maitland just after the start. From left to right are 3642, 3016, 6029 and 5719. Unfortunately the 59 didn't quite get into the line abreast shot.
This one was shot on the Bo'Ness to Kinneil heritage railway and shows the returning steam engine coming back to hitch up the passenger carriages for the return journey to Bo'ness.
This steam-hauled train service runs from Edinburgh to Aberdeen, and is pulled by the iconic Tornado engine. During the course of its journey, the train crosses over the Forth Bridge and travels along the Scottish coastline, allowing us to take in some of the most pristine scenery the country has to offer. The train has large windows to ensure panoramic views, and a restaurant car.
