Statue at the entrance of the Parish Church of Saint Peter

Part way up the Main Street of Mont St-Michel is the small Parish Church of Saint Peter. It blends in with the stonework all around and is easy to miss.

Dating from the 15th and 16th centuries, St-Pierre is considered the parish church of Mont St-Michel. The church is dedicated to St-Pierre, or Saint Peter, the patron saint of fishermen.

Giethoorn is a village in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is located in the municipality of Steenwijkerland, about 5 km southwest of Steenwijk. Giethoorn is often referred to as 'Little Venice'.

Tourism has had a relatively small influence on the old traditional town. The village, still only fully accessible by boat, is one of several places commonly known as the Venice of the North or Venice of the Netherlands. Giethoorn has over 180 bridges.
