Reclaimed lumber is not only environmentally responsible and aesthetically pleasing, but it begs to tell its story... Where was it? Who crafted it in the first place? What has it seen over all these years?
I first stumbled over this derelict train station a decade ago, getting to know the winding back roads and secret side streets in my corner of the world. It was a honeymoon exploration, getting out every afternoon for a month with Susy, digging up new sights we could share. It felt good to make memories together, instead of just showing her what I'd already seen closer to home. We spent all our monetary wedding gifts chasing this emotion, trying every little restaurant that seemed half-decent, and picking roads at random. I'd never been happier than those wild days. But it was years before I recaptured that kind of freedom, and could afford to define my life by adventure – the way I'd always wanted. That feeling kept me going through static passage, doing different jobs and building an audience, finally saving up for my own car to connect the dots on maps again. I'd been so long borrowing a vehicle, hiking, biking or hitching a ride, that I'd forgot the depth of independence. When it slips your grip for a while, getting it back feels waking from a good dream, and finding reality is better. Now I get restless without a tale to tell; staring out the window doesn't do it for me anymore. It's only ever been money holding me back. But if you've got gas in the car and a few free hours, don't let it be lack of will.

Static Noise
An exploration of texture and grayscale. This shot captures the intricate, chaotic beauty of composite materials, stripping away colour to focus entirely on the interplay of light, shadow, and jagged geometry. The resulting pattern mimics the visual "snow" of a dead analog signal - a frozen moment of interference and digital-like grain.
