The Web Summit 2012 in Dublin gave us all the opportunity to see many real rich people and even more who aspire to being rich and many interesting opinions, statements and views were supplied during the two day event:

Ireland is a “better place” than London for global web companies to establish a European base, said Renaud Visage, co-founder of Eventbrite.

"Ireland's workforce isn't good enough to support a meaningful environment for start-up companies" according to Patrick Collison, whose online payments company Stripe is based in Silicon Valley and is valued at around $500m (€380m) just three years after it was started.

AOL Chief Executive Tim Armstrong said at the summit today that he is planning further expansion of the company's Irish operation.

According to CEO Alex Hawkinson (SmartThings) Ireland had been an "incredible host" and he would like to see them open an office in the country in the near future. In case you are not aware SmartThings, won the Electric Ireland Spark of Genius Award winner, taking home a €100,000 cash prize.

Former Moxie's logo as Moxie's Classic Grill

Moxie's began as a small deli and diner in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1986, before transforming itself into an upscale premium casual dining restaurant and lounge in 2004. Following recent economic and development booms, Moxie's has begun opening new locations rapidly across Canada with a focus on globally inspired comfort food. Their niche is providing clients with an upscale experience compared to their competition, with their bathrooms even being luxurious. The menu focuses on house-made ingredients with a global inspiration. Their direct competition would be other premium casual chains such as Earls (restaurant chain) and Cactus Club Cafe. Northland Properties Group owns Moxie's Grill and Bar, as well as Chop Steakhouse & Bar, Shark Club Bar & Grill, Rockford Wok, Bar One Urban Lounge and Denny's Restaurants.

Moxie’s restaurants feature dining rooms and lounges that are open seven days a week. The exciting lounge atmosphere and the seated restaurant area are perfect for any occasion - from weekend brunch with the extended family, a romantic meal with someone special, pints and appetizers after the game, or a bottle of wine with a tight-knit group of friends. Moxie's has daily drink specials, and patios across the country open throughout the summer.

In December 2006 Moxie's expanded its brand to include CHOP Steakhouse & Bar and opened the first location in Edmonton, Alberta. CHOP has since expanded and has locations in Edmonton, Kelowna, Richmond, Winnipeg, and Calgary.

Monitoring your bank statement is the best way of knowing if someone is attempting to use your money.

This morning, checking my latest bank statement, I opened the file to remove a page but pulled open the bottom ring and not one of the centre rings. That ring closed on my finger, where you see the piece of wood in this re-enactment.

Were I a more dedicated photographer, I would have got my 'phone, lying on the table beside me, and snapped the moment. However, my only thought was to open the file and extract my finger – it was very painful 😟

Time to batten down the hatches for Sunday.

Wind gusts could get to 75 mph!

Shortly after 2am Prospect Volunteers were dispatched for a structure fire at 64 Cook Rd. First arriving units found a fully involved car fire in the driveway which had extended to the corner of the house. Upon size up of the situation an engine and ladder from Cheshire and an additional tanker from Bethany were requested to the scene and an engine company from Waterbury to headquarters for coverage. With all the residents determined to be out of the house, crews quickly worked on extinguishing the car as others advanced lines through the front door to attack the fast moving structure fire. Fire vented through a partial roof collapse near the origin of the fire and from roof cuts made by the truck crews. The situation was declared under control approximately 45 minutes after dispatch. Investigation of the scene showed a threatening statement spray painted on the garage door near the origin of the fire and witness told police they saw someone fleeing the scene shortly after the fire was discovered. The Prospect Fire Marshal was on scene and in light of the evidence found the State Fire Marshal's Office was called to the scene for a full investigation of the fire.

Am I the only person who misses Chumbawamba?

A stroll on the beach is often so enjoyable thanks to the people I meet there.

Michal was playing her guitar which attracted us and we asked her to sing, too. She did gladly and we joined in.

Michal, 23 y/o, has recently returned home to Israel from India where she had spent three months. She was looking for peace and quiet in Goa and a place to get away from family pressure.

"I was told repeatedly to start studying, do something with myself, but I just wanted to be left in peace."

India did help her to find quietude although Michal said it was too short a stay. She intends to go back someday.

Michal believes that people should do more things that they love. People shouldn't lie to themselves, they should smile more and love unconditionally.

Shot this going to a flea market. SE stands for the municipal of "Segeberg" in Germany. The letter and numbers to complete the awesomeness are vanity.

Needless to say that it wasn't a hot chick, but an old hag that left the car.

Svensker er fine og så har de så søt dialekt. Dette er uten tvil det feteste stille statementet som er i Oslo i dag. På en rivingstomt i nhærheten av Blitz.

The act of creativity is cathartic.

As one of my seniors said, "one must only be human, before he/she is an artist."

Being human, we are made to feel. Yet we are taught the value of control from an early age, we are expected to keep undesired emotions in, waiting for them to blow over, rather than to let them blow up.

My works begin with a visceral emotion. I hope to create a visual voice to inner thoughts and feeling, making up for the times where words have failed and other expressions have been restrained.

I started my IB art journey detached, choosing what I deemed safe subject matter: trees, butterflies, flowers, cats; devoid of emotion, nothing messy and complicated. I was lost, the first few months were spent stumbling, scared, clumsy and directionless. Yet now my works are very personal, perhaps more personal than I ever intended them to be. My friend and photographer, Nicole Wu, and her self-portraits were a huge influence. She showed me how to turn emotions into inspiration. It made me realize that was what I wanted to do in my works; to fulfill my need for cathartic expression, for reaching out and looking inwards, connecting with minds, touching thoughts, understanding psyches. Other artists that have heavily influenced my works are Cesar Del Valle, for his incredible interactive hyper-realistic illustrations and Alan Coulson, for his wonderfully expressive portraits.

The mediums I use are simple, 50-cent biro pens, charcoal pencils and acrylic paint, all monochrome. This way there are no colors to seduce the eye, the essence of scenery, objects and people become more visible. Emotion is emphasized by contrast, light, shadow, form and lines.
