Used by the livestock handlers to exercise their animals: horses mostly. I suspect that the cattle would get enough exercise just getting through the dairy barn. And, I wouldn't want to have to chase down a sheep or pig gotten loose in an uncontrolled space like this.
This was the last day. The arena was empty because the animals were being loaded for home.
