On the first day of Spring Term, Knox College students and faculty move equipment into their offices to prepare for StartUp Term 2017.

Startup Weekend Des Moines is a community building startup event. Participants get together with local developers, marketers, designers, enthusiasts and start companies in just 54 hours.
The participants that attend a Startup Weekend decide what they want to tackle over the weekend and come out at the end with several developed companies or projects. Attendees are responsible for bringing the same desire and passion to the project and walk out of the room with the task at hand, in a short 54 hours. Sound intense? It is.
This year Spindustry Strategy hosted the event at their offices. Many thanks to Spindustry Strategy for providing space for the weekend and all the hard work by Shane Reiser for organizing the event.

Проект по созданию дизайна сотовых телефонах для слабовидящих (с азбукой Брайля на кнопках) получил приз - сотовый телефон от компании Той Әлемi . Этот же проект получил сертификат на 50 тыс. тг. от компании Steel Master, которая пообещала на лазерном оборудовании создать прототип клавиатуры для этого телефона. Отметим, что автор этой идеи - представитель жанаозенской молодежи.
Асыл Тұқымды Түйе - проект по производству Шубата - национального кисломолочного продукта получил от АО "РД "КАЗМУНАЙГАЗ" подарок в виде финансирования покупки 10-ти верблюдов. Особенность проекта заключается в том, что они разводят племенных верблюдов, которые дают особенно-качественное молоко.
Все проекты от жанаозенской молодежи, как прошедших так и не прошедших в финал (4 проекта) получили поддержку местного акимата в виде предоставления офисных помещений и земельных участков в г. Жанаозен.
Проект по производству биоудобрений получил сертификат на 100 тыс. тенге от компании Steel Master
Проект по переработке пластиковых отходов с креативным методом сбора сырья (например, урна, которая выдает монеты за закинутую в нее пластиковую бутылку) получил сертификат на 150 тыс. тг. от компании Steel Master
Проект самого младшего (12 лет) стартапера Мади получил персональный компьютер от Фонда "ДАМУ" за бизнес-проект по прокату детских игрушек и велосипедов.
Проект по созданию перепелинной фермы получил 50 тыс. тг. за идею от компании "Глобал Транспорт Сервис"
I место - проект по переработке шкур овец (полуфабрикат на экспорт) получил 300 тыс. тг и 30% финансирования стоимости проекта от АО "РД "КАЗМУНАЙГАЗ".
II место - детский сад "Айгерим" с онлайн-сервисом для родителей получил 200 тыс. тг. и 50% финансирования стоимости проекта от АО "РД "КАЗМУНАЙГАЗ".
III место - проект по производству кумыса "Iзберген" получил 100 тыс. тг. и 50% финансирование от стоимости проекта от АО "РД "КАЗМУНАЙГАЗ". Более того, представитель власти г. Жанаозен пообещал выделить земельный участок под проект. Особенность проекта в том, производиться будет 3 вида кумаса (например, один из них - БалКумыс с добавлением меда).
Все проекты были занесены в базу данных Мангыстауского филиала Фонда "ДАМУ" как наиболее приоритетные для гос.финансирования.
For some reason, I am going to be involved coaching during the Startup Weekend Granada which is (probably still) taking place at Spiral Startups. In this picture, somebody is pitching his idea; the rest of the pitchers is waiting on line to pitch theirs. Just a few will be chosen to be developed during the weekend.
