Macro of a Stanley Knife / Craft Knife, photographed for Macro Monday’s theme “safety”. The safety element of my picture being the little widget at the top that retracts the blade. I sometime’s think that macro images reveal just a touch too much detail so I’ve tried to add a bit of interest to the image - post processed to the max you could say.

Not the best picture, but i think it is cute.

Stanley don't like the sun and heat. This was the best place with shadow for him. He slept a few hours there.

Designed by Jesse Hartley, Stanley Dock opened on 4 August 1848. The dock is the only one in Liverpool which was built inland, all the others being built out from the foreshore. The original quay warehouses are of a similar design to those at Albert Dock and are grade II* listed buildings. The warehouses were built to five storeys, covering an area of 12,000 sq yd (10,000 m2). Between 1897-1901, the southern part of the dock was filled in to build the large Stanley Dock Tobacco Warehouse by Anthony George Lyster. The northern warehouse has since been developed in to a hotel devoted to the White Star Line's RMS Titanic liner, which has strong links to the area's history of docks and shipping.

Building up a head of steam before climbing the steep hill at Stanway, Gloucestershire, is 1911 Stanley Steamer DS7563. The Stanley Motor Carriage Company was an American manufacturer of steam-engine vehicles; it operated from 1902 to 1924. The cars made by the company were colloquially called Stanley Steamers, although several different models were produced.

Situated in the north-western region of Tasmania the area in which Stanley is located formed part of a land grant that was issued to the Van Dieman’s Land Company in 1825 with the first settlers to the area arriving from England in 1826.

Stanley is the main fishing port of the north-west corner of Tasmania and it is also a popular tourist destination.

On the streets of Stanley the old world charm still remains with old buildings that transport us back to a more elegant time in history.

Stanley is an eleven year old yellow lab residing in Northern Virginia. A good dog, he does enjoy barking in the back yard for no good reason. On the other hand, he will be your best friend forever if asked.

Having travelled to Alberta's Icefirlds Parkway in Banff National Park. I composed this image while hiking to Stanley Glacier. It depicts the glacier's presence, but also its progressive decline, as formerly ice-covered mountain areas are now expanses of unstable scree. The image also reveals some striking clouds, cumulonimbus rain clouds, I believe. I decided B&W was the most appropriate tone for this image.

Various additions have been made to the building down through the years, and it is truly a lovely place to get a meal and a drink. On the evening we dined in there (the only place you can at present), the bistro was full of mostly locals. I can thoroughly recommend their Seafood Chowder.
