Ukraine, during a bike trip somewhere 2017. It got dark, and in the place where we wanted to sleep there were, contra-dictionary to the information on the map we had, no hotels or other places to stay.
In the end a Ukrainian family living in the middle of nowhere took us in, and provided us with food and a place for the night (for which we of course paid!). I slept in the bed of their son, who was then fighting against the separatists in the Donbas area.

no, i dont want you to remember today the famous bluesrock group Ten Years After. Ten years after Maidan, ten years after the russian invasion in East Ukraine and Crimea and exactly two years after the start of the aggression to all the Ukraine we are endangered to get tired or to forget.
We now see a weak Europe, split USA, insane Republicans, an old Biden, the G20 and many others not on the side of Ukraine...
an we see the antidemocrats in Russia, China, North Corea, Iran, and even in some EU parties wait and rejoice...

People are represented by ‘’i’’ — like ‘’!’’ showing urgency; they are mostly blue showing peace as in their nature, the sky, rain, gentleness (this was also painted on a rainy day, some of the splashes are from rain too); blue is also representing the medicine Buddha; in the white part ‘’мир’’ (‘’mír’’, peace in Ukrainian), ‘’la paz mundial’’ (Spanish for Latin America), and ‘’salaam’’ (Arabic for Syria) are written / printed — white space is space for peace to actualise, bigger than any person or group; ’’____ million refugees on the road’’ (now there are about 26.5 million refugees on the road, 4 million Ukrainian and 6 million from Syria, 7 million in Latin America), the number is growing daily; the quote comes from Sunzi ‘’an army of a hundred thousand means one million refugees on the road’’; the refugees in the picture are coming towards you, help is needed, the photo collage shows giving / receiving hands, and a mother and child; the words ‘’Peace Under Heaven’’ is a kind of secret message in the blue sky arc — right now it is not clear, obscured temporarily by current conflicts in the world, but is always present and true (in each person, and each potential act of kindness), provides a blueprint for the world — it is not broken but partially covered for now; at first I painted blue and yellow semi-circles thinking of Ukraine — here the blue is intact, the yellow is scattered (land damaged by war, land as the foundation of the people, parts of which they carry with them going forward: hope)
