Around 200 people gathered in Stroud High Street on Saturday to show their solidarity with people living in Ukraine following the Russian invasion.
At the Stand Up for Ukraine demonstration, Stroud’s Mayor, Cllr Kevin Cranston, spoke about how important it is to write to your MP and put pressure on the government to impose further sanctions against Russia.
Organiser Adrian Oldman, co-coordinator of Stroud District Green Party, and a Stroud Town councillor, said: “At this dark time, many of us in Stroud will want to show our support for and solidarity with the people of Ukraine, both those living there, and those living locally in Stroud and the rest of Gloucestershire.”
