It was a lovely fall day for our drive into the wilderness of Denali. Our 66 mile (round trip 132 miles/ 7 ½-8 hour trip) adventure to the Eielson Visitor’s Center had produced some great shots. However, our drive back to the entrance was going to give yet some more captures of the animals of Denali. As we rounded the curve to the Sable Ramp, we saw three bears to our left. Our Driver, Kat, positioned the shuttle so that all had a view of the animals grazing for berries. Suddenly a phone alarm sounded and Mom stood to get a better view. All passengers were delighted to see her stance. With the rhythm of a machine gun, one could hear the constant hum of the cameras as many hoped to capture this bear in the wonderful fall colors.
Two Demoiselle Cranes (Grus virgo) were framed in a delightful classic posture standing against each other in their natural habitat. It was all by the patience that paid off well for different poses they offer but only after spending long time. I had to approach very slowly from distance and finally managed some delightful moments together. The isolation of the subject and the creamy bokeh made them really stand out here. Pics was taken from a village in Rajasthan, India.
Australian Hobby (Falco longipennis)
Ready to defend his territory and trying to stare me down as I stood in the middle of Hoppers Lane to get the shot. Hoppers Lane is a main link from Hoppers Crossing and the Princes Highway to the Princes Freeway so I only had moments to get the shot. The white sky is smoke from the bushfires rather than cloud.
Every day is a blur
Sometimes I can't tell what day it is
Don't know what day it is
Can you tell me what day it is?
Life's passing by
'Cause I'm out chasing empty highs
Every hello just means goodbye
But I'm looking for more this time

I do love the attitude the Robin does display all in one stance - defiance, bravery, curiosity, pride, territorial and beauty. I got a few more shots of this lovely model yesterday.
Well in my judgement anyhow, this little male Siskin is taking a proud stance and showing of his beautiful plumage including his little black cap. I like these birds that have only recently joined the bird feeder crew. They bring colour and a different sweet song to the proceedings.

She paused at the edge of the stairway,
the city falling away beneath her.
There was confidence in her stance,
but softness in her gaze—
as if she were listening to the day
before deciding where to go next.
captured at la latina metro—his stance calm, his gaze unwavering. nothing posed, everything real. a portrait shaped by the streetlight and the years.

This white-faced heron was busy catching little fish when it spotted one to it's left and twisted it's body around before adjusting it's legs.

"Wincher's Stance" is a sculpture that is located in the Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. The sculpture is actually a full size sculpture of two people embracing, however I have chosen to just highlight the top of the piece to show the detail. The sculpture dates to 1994 and is by artist John Clinch. The term "winch" is a local Glaswegian term for kissing or courting.
