St Canice’s Cathedral is the cathedral of the Church of Ireland in Kilkenny.
It was built from limestone in Gothic style replacing and earlier church. Inside are several stain glass windows. The largest, the east window, is a replica of a 13th century window which was destroyed by Cromwell and his men. Fortunately drawings were available allowing it to be restored in the 19th century.
The adjacent 100ft high round tower was built in the 9th century. You can climb to the top for 3 Euros.
