Francisco António Cieira ergueu em 1802 um primeiro sinal.
Filipe Folque mandou-o reconstruir, em 1852, com a actual forma.
Tem 9,10 metros de altura e 3,25 metros de base.

Fascinating the see that the main rainbow extends way down into the left-hand corner of this panoramic image!
A double rainbow occurs when water droplets reflect the sun’s rays twice and attain the same effect. While a primary rainbow is visible when light is reflected once off the back of a raindrop, a secondary and usually dimmer rainbow is spotted when light is reflected twice in a more complicated pattern.
The colors of the second rainbow are inverted, with blue on the outside and red moved to the inside. The second bow appears dimmer or cloudier because much more light is released from two reflections, and both bows cover a larger portion of the sky.
In fact, one of Hawaii's nicknames is “The Rainbow State”
The Dim Sum we were presented with would have been worth a shot for sure. Unfortunately for every photo junkie they were not only extremely good looking but also very tasty indeed, meaning the camera had to stay hidden (and starving, I would dare adding) into my bag :)
