This is a large metal sculpture called the Staff of Moses. It is located on the peak of Mt. Nebo, at the traditional burial site of Moses. It stands on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the Dead Sea to the left, Israel straight ahead, and Jordan all around. The small viewing platform to the right was built for the late Pope John Paul II to overlook the Holy Land. There is a small plaque that points out all the important areas from here.

The sculpture represents Moses' staff with a serpent wound around it, it is made of tiny wind chimes that make an interesting sound when the wind blows

This is the Makuta that was designed for the Journey to One animations!

It was a collaborative effort between my colleagues Corvin (Vezok’s friend), Nico (Brickthing) and me (Niek). In an effort to make it easier for you guys to build it, I took some pictures of some of the sub constructions.

As a fan of the theme since day 1, it has been an honor to be able to contribute to it.

This model is a combiner and uses the pieces from:

Happy I got to meet one of the 124th Wing's great photographers in Staff Sgt Child. Otherwise, figured I'd drop this photo onto my Flickr feed from Gowen Thunder 2017. An event celebrating the bravery, patriotism & skill of the Idaho National Guard.

More pics to come - album link is flic.kr/s/aHsm5NgvDT . Enjoy folks!

Changing staffs at Berry, south coast NSW.

Berry is the last attended location in NSW where electric staff is in use for the sections on both sides, and I think it may also be the last such location in Australia. Thus, it is the only location where station employees still regularly hand exchange staffs with the crews of passing trains. This was once a common activity on many, if not most, stations on Australian single track main lines (and something I have done countless times in my career).

For anyone who doesn't know about it, I will try to explain electric staff working in a few paragraphs! It is a token system for single lines. On single lines there are "crossing" locations with two or more tracks, where opposing trains can 'cross' or pass each other. Between crossing locations there is only one track ("single line"), and the purpose of token working is to ensure that there is only one train at a time on that section of track, to prevent the possibility of collisions between trains.

In token working the driver of a train must be in possession of the correct token for the single line section. The token is inscribed with the names of the locations at each end of the section to identify it. The token gives the authority for a train to occupy that single line section, and it must be carried on the train while it is in that section. Because it is carried on the train, it is not available to authorise any other train to enter that section.

In electric staff working, the token is rod shaped and called a staff, and there are a number of staffs for each section. The staffs are held within a pair of staff "instruments", one at each end of the section. The instruments are electrically connected, and when a staff is withdrawn from one of the instruments, they both become locked and no more staffs can be withdrawn. When that staff is returned to either instrument, both instruments become free and another staff can then be withdrawn. This ensures that only one staff can be out of the pair of instruments at any one time, and so only one train can carry the staff and be authorised to enter the section at any time.

Phew!

4. I made the zoo a quick collage of the staff who worked on Irwin's procedure. I don't think they'll use it for marketing, but perhaps they'll pass it along to their impressive workers.

Note to self: Woman in pigtails is Nina, a keeper. Woman in gray sweatshirt is Megan, now the lead keeper at the barn. Athena is the black haired vet tech. Blonde is new head vet, Dr. Colleen Clabbers.

A legendary warrior from an all but forgotten race, Ceth is a master of all elements. Ceth is one of the Conduits, a mighty race who could harness the powers of the elements by using different magical chemicals, called elixirs. After a terrible war with the mask makers, the Conduits were nearly wiped out. As one of the last of his kind, Ceth wears an elixir pack with six elemental elixirs. He can control the elements directly, or he can charge his weapons with energy. He can only use a single element at a given moment, and repeated use of an elixir will use it up. His switch sabers can be used as swords, scythes, or spears.

Race: Conduit

Element: None

Powers: Use of Elixirs

Mask: Telekinesis

Weapons: Switch Sabers, Bo Staff

Tools: Elixir Pack

South Staffs Volvo B8R Plaxton Panther KBZ 855 was on an Alfa tour to Tenby this weekend, 11th November, 2024. It was new to Pulhams as YX19 MKJ / CL19 PUL - allegedly as a 57 seater - but is now a 49 seat with toilet as befitting for tour operation.

A sharp exit for a break?
