Lüneburg ist eine Hansestadt, welche im Mittelalter durch die Salzgewinnung ihre Bedeutung erlangt hat. Die mittelalterliche Architektur im Stil der Backsteingotik und die romantischen, historischen Giebel sind Lüneburgs Markenzeichen. Im reizvollen Gegensatz zur historischen Kulisse steht das junge, bunte Stadtleben der Universitätsstadt. Lüneburg wurde auf Salz erbaut und erlangte durch den Handel mit dem "Weißen Gold" im Mittelalter Reichtum und Ansehen. Die Spuren der salzigen Vergangenheit Lüneburgs laden zum Verweilen in einer lebendigen Innenstadt ein.
Lüneburg is a Hanseatic city that gained importance in the Middle Ages through salt production. The medieval architecture in brick Gothic style and the romantic, historic gables are Lüneburg's trademarks. The young, colorful city life of the university town stands in charming contrast to the historical backdrop. Lüneburg was built on salt and gained wealth and prestige through trading in the "white gold" in the Middle Ages. The traces of Lüneburg's salty past invite you to linger in a lively inner city.

I'm really excited about what the technology can do – here the IBIS, image stabilizer in the camera. Especially about the fact that you can easily do photos with movement out of hand and without a tripod – and the rest gets sharp ;-)

ENG: What you can find when visiting the Apple Store in Berlin's City West on Kurfürstendamm. A wonderful staircase! At the request of a Flickr user pix-4-2-day, comes now a another variant in black & white.
GER: Was man nicht so alles findet beim Besuch des Apple Store in der Berliner City West am Kurfürstendamm. Ein wunderbares Treppenhaus! Auf Wunsch eines Flickr Mitglieds (pix-4-2-day) kommt nun noch einmal eine Variante in Schwarz & Weiß.
ENG: The 14th floor monument building is a residential and commercial high-rise on Hallesches Ufer in Berlin Kreuzberg and was completed in 1971. A highlight for architecture lovers and photographers alike, is the semicircular courtyard of the polygonal high-rise.
For the developer Heinz Mosch, the architects Hermann Fehling and Daniel Gogel built a residential and commercial complex with around 116 apartments, offices and practices as well as 8 stores on Hallesches Ufer at the corner of Wilhelmstraße directly on the Landwehrkanal in 1968-1970.

GER: Das 14-geschossige Baudenkmal ist ein Wohn- und Geschäftshochhaus am Hallesches Ufer in Berlin Kreuzberg und wurde 1971 fertiggestellt. Ein Highlight für Architekturliebhaber und Fotografen gleichermaßen, ist der halbrunde Innenhof des polygonalen Hochhauses.
Für den Bauunternehmer Heinz Mosch errichteten die Architekten Hermann Fehling und Daniel Gogel 1968-1970 am Halleschen Ufer Ecke Wilhelmstraße direkt am Landwehrkanal ein Wohn- und Geschäftskomplex mit rund 116 Wohnungen, Büros und Praxen sowie 8 Läden.

ENG: The "Upper West" has 33 floors and is a 119-meter high building with offices, hotel and retail-shops in a high-rise building in Berlin's Charlottenburg district.
You can see one of my older photos from November 2017, which I have revised today. I let my artistic vein run free in the Adobe IPad software. ☻

GER: Das "Upper West" hat 33 Etagen und ist ein 119 Meter hohes Gebäude mit Büros, Hotel und Einzelhandel in einem Hochhaus im Berliner Bezirk Charlottenburg.
Zu sehen ist eins meiner älteren Fotos vom November 2017, dass ich heute nochmal überarbeitet habe. Ich habe meine künstlerische Ader ein wenig freien Lauf gelassen in der Adobe IPad Software. ☻

ENG: A visit to the Brandenburg Gate in the late evening and with very few tourists. So visiting the landmark is fun even as a local. So I managed to get a panoramic shot that also meets my expectations.

GER: Ein Besuch des Brandenburger Tors am späten Abend und mit sehr wenigen Touristen. So macht der Besuch des Wahrzeichens auch als Einheimischer Spaß. So ist mir eine Panoramaaufnahme gelungen, die auch meinen Vorstellungen entspricht.
ENG: If we turn around ourselves for a long time and then suddenly stop, we get a felt giddy (in German: Drehwurm). The ground seems to sway while everything around us continues to rotate.
I discovered this wonderful gem once again by chance while strolling around and entering a department store on the Frankfurter Allee in Berlin.
GER: Wenn wir uns längere Zeit um uns selbst drehen und dann plötzlich stehenbleiben bekommen wir einen Drehwurm. Der Boden scheint zu schwanken, während sich alles um uns herum weiterdreht.
Dieses wunderbare kleinod hab ich mal wieder durch Zufall beim flanieren und betreten eines Kaufhauses auf der Frankfurter Allee in Berlin entdeckt.
ENG: This new building is located directly on Stralauer Platz behind the Schulz Hotel in Berlin's Friedrichshain district. Once again a residential building that offers only condominium, but for this the residents have a fantastic view of the Spree river and the East Side Gallery. Currently, this place with its perspective is a real photo hotspot.

GER: Direkt am Stralauer Platz und hinter dem Schulz-Hotel im Berliner Ortsteil Friedrichshain befindet sich dieser Neubau. Mal wieder ein Wohnhaus das nur Eigentumswohnung bietet, aber dafür haben die Bewohner einen fantastischen Blick auf die Spree sowie der East-Side-Gallery. Aktuell ist dieser Ort mit seiner Perspektive ein richtiger Foto Hotspot.

ENG: You can see the glass roof of the Berlin "Galeria Kaufhof Karstadt" shopping center building on the upper floor in a wide angle shot. This well-known five-storey building is located directly on Alexanderplatz and invites Berliners and tourists to shop again and again.

GER: Zu sehen ist das Glasdach des Berliner „Galeria Kaufhof Karstadt“ Gebäudes im Obergeschoss in einer Weitwinkel Aufnahme. Dieses bekannte fünfgeschossige Bauwerk steht direkt auf dem Alexanderplatz und lädt Berliner und Touristen immer wieder zum shoppen ein.
ENG: Good morning everyone! Now the polar vortex Split with its squalls is there and has brought us here in Berlin some snow. There are only a good 5 centimeters but better than nothing. For this we still have a feel temperature of about -18℃. You can see the Brandenburg Gate at -8℃ and snowflakes in the Berlin district Mitte. ☻

GER: Guten Morgen ihr lieben! Nun ist der Polarwirbel Split mit seinen Sturmböen da und hat uns hier in Berlin einiges an Schnee gebracht. Es sind zwar nur gut 5 Zentimeter aber besser als nichts. Dafür haben wir immer noch eine gefühlte Temperatur von etwa -18℃. Zu sehen ist das Brandenburger Tor bei -8℃ und Schneeflocken im Berliner Ortsteil Mitte. ☻
ENG: After the night shift I finally go home. Through the fog in the morning and off through the middle. And after such a foggy morning followed a really great warm spring day.
GER: Nach dem Nachtdienst geht es endlich nach Hause. Durch den Morgen-Nebel und ab durch die Mitte. Und nach solch einem nebligen morgen folgte ein richtig toller warmer Frühlingstag.
ENG: The Lübeck Central Station is the largest and most important passenger station in the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. The four-aisle platform hall is 130 m long, 85 m wide and spans ten tracks as well as four platforms. With around 31,000 travelers and visitors per day, Lübeck's central station is the busiest station in Schleswig-Holstein. The station was built in 1908 to a design by Fritz Klingholz to replace the previous building and to improve express train connections. Lübeck Central Station was added to the list of monuments of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck as a special cultural monument in 1992. The last major renovation took place between 2001 and 2007. After the modernization of the so-called Reiterbahnhof [*1], it was also connected to the electric railroad network in December 2008.

GER: Der Lübecker Hauptbahnhof ist der größte und wichtigste Personenbahnhof der Hansestadt Lübeck. Die vierschiffige Bahnsteighalle ist 130 m lang, 85 m breit und überspannt zehn Gleise sowie vier Bahnsteige. Mit rund 31.000 Reisenden und Besuchern pro Tag ist Lübecks Hauptbahnhof der frequenzstärkste Bahnhof Schleswig-Holsteins. Der Bahnhof wurde 1908 nach Entwurf von Fritz Klingholz erbaut, um das bisherige Gebäude zu ersetzen und um die Schnellzugverbindungen zu verbessern. Der Lübecker Hauptbahnhof wurde 1992 als besonderes Kulturdenkmal in die Denkmalliste der Hansestadt Lübeck aufgenommen. Die letzte Grunderneuerung fand in den Jahren 2001 bis 2007 statt. Nach der Modernisierung des sogenannten Reiterbahnhofs [*1] wurde er im Dezember 2008 auch an das elektrische Bahnnetz angeschlossen.
