Back to Tuesday's trip to Llangefni for some more shots of the 'Squirrelfest'

I was inspired to make this Christmas card when I saw the challenge On Art From the Heart to make a card with a squirrel on it! My first thought was that I didn't have any squirrel stamps...so I started going through my various sets to see if maybe I DID have one. Lo and behold, there was a squirrel in my Lawn Fawn Critters in the Forest set. So I pulled out my winter landscape die by Lawn Fawn, and a sentiment by Momenta and went for it. The tree was pretty bare so I added that little bird to the branches and colored him red. The tiny ornament came from a large wood mounted stamp that I had and I cut it out and colored it to add additional holiday cheer to the scene. Lots of fussy cutting and snipping but I like the way it turned out. Oh, and I used more of that super old patterned paper!

One of my students who is so sweet has been battling a fever and back to back infections for over a week. I wanted to make her a card that would cheer her up and let her know her teachers are thinking of her. This card used the fun sketch at Sugar Pea Design and stamps (and digi stamp-squirrel) from Paper Smooches. I made the background panel using Distressed inks and then sprinkling water on it to create the illusion of stars. I also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the circular element under the distressed panel. I am submitting this card to sugarpeadesigns.com/blog/2014/10/27/sugarsketch-challenge... , www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-... and www.leiphartonart.blogspot.ca/2014/10/paper-smooches-squi...

The Picture Perfect challenge at Paper Smooches (www.papersmoochesstamps.com/) and the SquirrelFest Challenge on the Art from the Heart blog (leiphartonart.blogspot.com/) inspired my fun loving squirrel to have a "Happy Fall" into a big pile of leaves. Plus I now use my Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes die on most of my cards as I think it adds so much and this week it allows me to enter thier fun Flickr Challenge 6 "Die Cutting" from Simon Says Stamp (simonsaysstampblog.com/).

Products used:

stamps - Paper Smooches

frame die - Simon Says Stamps

alphas - C.C. Designs

inks - copics, mementos

pattern paper - October Afternoon

adhesive - Tombow

This cute squirrel from Paper smooches went so well with the pumpkins from Sugar Pea Designs. I coloured both in fall colours and added them to a die cut circle that was splattered with Heidi Swapp Gold spray. I used the sketch from sugarpeadesigns.com/blog/2014/11/24/sugarsketch-16/. I am submitting this to sugarpeadesigns.com/blog/2014/11/24/sugarsketch-16/ ,http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com/2014/11/challenge-159-thanksgiviing-and-fall.html , www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com/2014/11/challenge-159-a... and www.leiphartonart.blogspot.ca/2014/11/paper-smooches-squi...

After seeing Emily Leiphart's Squirrel card challenge I continued to dig through my stamps and YES, I found another squirrel image!! This one was from the dollar bin at Michael's crafts and I combined it with a sentiment by Mark's Finest Papers, a punched wreath, embossing folder by Cuttlebug and a bit of gingham ribbon. The circle die is by Spellbiinders. I think my niece is going to get this one.

Stamp and Create November Challenge: use ribbon or bows. I don't use ribbon that often anymore but I had this super cute gingham ribon and realized it would make the perfect touch to this punched wreath.

I used paper punches to make the wreath and then added tiny berries made with a hole punch and a bit of bakers twine. The die and squirrel is by Lawn Fawn. The embossing folder is by Tim Holtz.

Scorecard from the four rounds I played at Redan Park. My first disc golf tournment.

Finally caught up with the elusive buzzard, that regularly roosts in an oak tree, in one of my Daughter's fields. It had just seen me and took off immediately !

Quite a good end to the day after the 'Squirrelfest' in Plas Newydd.

Just the Kingfisher to catch up with now !!!
