Sometimes feel like I'm staring through the shroud, squinting through the curtain of everything that makes us not then but now. The tall trees shed children, a hundred saplings competing for sun, and only one of them survives a generation. This old farmstead feels heavy just to look at it, massive shoulders pounding down on hard stone foundations. For now, they draw together, no wrenching loose or dislocation, no broken beams or bones. The roof is down to her last desperation; shingles curled, gutters plugged, no gaping holes just yet. I dial past the noise, let my eyes drift through the tangle, everything else just static in the scene. When I was a kid, I used to sit around and play with vision, stretch out my hand and rock my focus from fingertip to elbow. I'd drift my eyes until I felt the strain, try to dial into the blur, but it always got sharp against my will. After all these years, it only seems right that my life would revolve around seeing.

This guy was at the beach in La Boquita pushing a spool around using a stick. He told us that it was he and his friend's own invention and they were going to make money with their game. I tried it and it was entertaining. I took about 15 photos before realizing my ISO was still on 800 making my pictures too grainy
