The mystical surroundings of Wist man's woods gives an atmosphere that you rarely find anymore.. a true ancient location hidden in Dartmoor National Park. The single stone, stands out for not being moss covered like the others that surround it;
therefore acting as a focal point for the eye to draw to, centre frame upon which the compositions hangs around it.

After seeing lots of whites and blues, browns and yellows in Iceland I have opted for an impacting composition in orange for today's Sunday Slide.

The Macro Monday day theme for 3/14 is “pie”, for mathematically obvious reasons, and this will probably be my posting. These scrabble tiles are 1/2 inch so this square composition is about 2 and 3/4ths or just under 3 inches. Will post the size verification in the first comment box in a little while.

While shooting the dawn sky recently, I startled a Mallard couple near the shore of the lake, and they took off ... and by the time I raised my camera to my eye, they had touched down in the lake again, a couple dozen meters offshore.
So the shot I ended up with was a de facto chronicle of their entire flight from takeoff to landing, like a 'short hop' on an airplane between two nearby cities.
