Anytime new insight replaces an old assumption or a fossilized perception is the spring. New understandings sprout, new tolerances appear, and new curiosity draws you to previously dark places. Just as the sun shines earlier and longer in the spring, changes that seemed impossible appear to be possible with each new insight. - Gary Zukav
The severe angle of this tree, and the evidence of complete surgery of all of its limbs, was not enough to destroy its ability to survive. Fresh branches have sprouted...I hope it makes it.
Ironically, this tree survives at a "ghost town" , Glen Haven, Michigan.
Plant an idea....one day or day one...

The Brussels sprout is a member of the Gemmifera Group of cabbages (Brassica oleracea), grown for its edible buds. The leafy green vegetables look like miniature cabbages. The Brussels sprout has long been popular in Brussels, Belgium, and may have gained its name there (Wiki).

Close up of Dakekanba (Erman's birch, Betula ermanii) in the mixed sub-alpine forest surrounding the Tsugaike marshes.
It is a broadleaf deciduous tree species found in Northeast Asia from Japan to Kamchatka Peninsula. It is planted as street trees in Europe but the photo shows how it grows in the wild.
Dark-coloured conifer trees are Ooshirabiso (Maries' fir, Abies mariesii). Its straight trunks make a contrast with twisted Dakekanba.
Psalm 92:7 “Though the wicked sprout like grass and evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever.”

7/52 Vegetables - Macro Mondays
I love my vegetables, so had plenty of choice in the fridge :) But I went with a Brussels Sprout, as to me they are a lovely Winter vegetable and today is a wet grey Wintery day.
Yellow Onion doing its spring thing and sending out a few sprouts. This onion (allium capa) is also known as the common onion, brown onion or bulb onion. For the Macro Mondays challenge, Onion Family.
Area shown is about 68mm. Happy Macro Monday!

A few of these little guys appeared on my lawn after a couple of days of heavy spring rain. I have not seen them before - if anyone can help with ID it would be much appreciated
