I put three zone on each side of the drive and once this last bit is plumbed in I'm done with the front yard. The driveway to the right of the sprinkler head is 21 feet wide and I shot the two pipes under it using just water preassure from a hose. One acts as conduit to run the control cable and the other send water to the other half of the front yard with about 10 times the flow of the 400 feet of 3/4 inch water line I buried before I built the house. I would have prefered to be able to that line cause I buried it 5 feet down out of harms way and roots using a backhoe but I could not get a long enough length of 1 1/4 piping without using barbed fittings. I should have spent the extra $50 at the time and gone with sch40 but hindsite and all...

I did almost 800 feet of trenching all around the house in a day and a half with no effort at all to cut through big roots, and since I had the State flag all the buried utilities I managed not to cut into anything except for one drain line in the yard for flood control.
I wanted to put in a regular box and move it closer to the house and further from the property line in case my future neighbors ever put up a fence...
The entire yard is terraced into small retention ponds with drains down the property lines to keep the lawn from washing out during the occasional tropical storm.

It may be stating the obvious... but in our cold climate you need to "winterize" your irrigation system... it is necessary to remove the water in the lines... known as "blow out". In addition, the water lines for the irrigation that lead in to the house need to be drained.
