We had a late, for Seattle, dusting of wet snow today just when my tulips thought it was safe to come up.

Cladonia lichen providing a bed for a tired bee, at Murlough NNR, Northern Ireland #Springwatch

OK! So here's the story. My wife and I are delighted to have 3 smashing offspring. Two boys and a girl (actually -one young woman and two young men). On my birthday I was presented with a present from both sons and their respective wives. On unwrapping the parcel, this is what I found. Two pregnancy testing kits, each used, each showing positive!!!! It took me a short while to get it. Looking up all 4 of them were grinning their heads off. My daughter was ecstatic! My wife was speechless for several long moments.... sorry its not a bird or a bee, but it is all about them isn't it, so I hope you'll bear with me as a proud future Grandad shows off a little. Not a birthday gift I'll forget in a hurry. BBC Springwatch, eat your heart out!

I think the picture sums up why photography and pictures, can be so powerful! Anyway, we are over the moon.

A huge thank you to everyone who was kind enough to send me mails and messages about my film on Springwatch last night. It was great fun to work on and the Springwatch team were fantastic. It took a lot of persuasion to get me on the wrong side of the lens though!

If you missed it, you can see it on BBC iPlayer at www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0214fhh/Springwatch_2013_E... (18 minutes from the start)

Just popped in to say hello.

Showing well at Sackers Green, near Sudbury, Suffolk.

So this is the week that the BBC Springwatch team are in Skomer. I was in Skomer a few weeks ago and still editing my way through all my photos.

I've had a bit of a break posting them so thought I'd share them again to follow the Springwatch theme! So everyday I'll post a new Puffin photo.

I'll be back on Skomer in July (5, 6, 7 and 8th) would be great to meet up with anyone interested so send me an email.
