It was inspiring to see Lincoln's house in Springfield, Illinois and it is amazing to think that if his "house divided" speech been ignored or rejected (as was likely) he never would have been elected.
Of course if I had been him I would have said "So long, and good riddance to the hillbilly states." And then I would have watched them starve.
Springfield is a creepy little town--well it's more of an intersection than a town-just north of Lake Geneva. I went to Lake Geneva this week for the "get out and shoot" challenge.

We talk about how the garden got started, plans for the garden and Jacksonville in general. Eventually Phillip and Jennifer hope to provide space for the community to grow their own food and possibly provide food for their neighbors and the surrounding downtown community.
