Wow what a difference today, although we still had quite an icy wind coming off the hills, in the sun it was glorious! I managed to prepare my veg plot for my tatties to go in!(got some huge blisters on my hands to prove it!!!) Hung the washing out, first time this year!!!!

Which was quite an improvement after the last couple of arctic days we've had!

Taken at Altamont Gardens Co. Carlow.

She sat on the backyard swing. Or rather sprawled upon it. She was horizontally positioned with one leg thrown up over the back of the seat and her head tipped backward over the edge of the cushion so that her long hair hung down and brushed over the blades of grass as she swung.

She looked up at the patches of blue sky through the dense branches, thick with leaves. The birds sang and danced through the canopy. The neighborhood dogs would break into a raucous chorus of barking at the slightest provocation.

She soaked up the sun and felt her body relax as she swung back and forth with the wind rustling her hair. It brought memories of the past and a smile of recognition.

She could be cooped up in a room all day but as long as there was a window open to the breeze, her soul would still feel free and able to breathe. The wind was freedom. And as it moved through her hair it also moved through her mind, awakening and speaking to her soul like the whisper of a muse.

As she occasionally pushed against the framework of the swing support to keep her momentum going, she remembered when she was young and how her father would push her on the park swings. The feeling of flying to little arms and legs stuck out into the air.

The sun warmed her skin and she swung happily in the backyard, soaking in the moments and letting herself relax and recharge.

She heard a voice behind her from the house.

“Hey retard,” he said in that low, cool, even voice. “You ready to go?”

She turned her head to look at him and simply smiled.

The first warm springday this year. I dedusted my Cruiser and went out for a ride. The air was so fresh - it was wonderful...

I'm glad I looked up, because today was a really beautiful one weather-wise.

I snapped this one in work when I was taking a short cut between two different parts of the building.

More like this please!

The flowers in the park are still sleepily subdued after last week's snow storm, but the market is a riotous profusion of color. #colorful #color #flowers #springflowers #spring #springday #pansies #daffodils #market #unionsquare #farmersmarket #unionsquarepark #unionsquaremarket #manhattan #newyork #nyc #petersealystudio #newyorkartist
