I was very lucky to capture this Hobby eating a dragonfly fly on the wing just a few feet above my head!

Found in Brede High Woods, East Sussex this morning - about a month earlier than usual.

Returning in a hurry from the left hand channel's far edge - he's clocked the Lady Bittern over the other side.

Self - seeded and growing from the concrete and gravel alongside my car parking space - what a trouper.

Two birds engaged in a chase, perhaps the lower one (woodpigeon) avoided the predator by creating a stunning diversion !

fat too long a day at work to get out so this I took Tuesday

Well, it was monsoon like rain today - so I went for a walk to test out my new waterproof jacket and boots - needless to say I feel bereft without my camera, so it came along too - I never dreamed I would see one of the largest Red Admirals I have ever seen when at last the rain stopped - and nearly halfway through October

A Coot chick that has just started to leave the nest by day.

In need of an energy boost i gave it some sugar water and snapped this 😊

Over the moon today! Spotted a first for me. My first swallows. I only managed to photograph one as the other 3 I counted wouldn't stay still for long enough! Also had a very close encounter with a large grass snake today. Unfortunately it was such a close encounter that it was too close for my lens!
