Think this may have recently emerged and is expanding it,s wings, hence the milky appearance

Watching a kingfisher perched on a branch at the side of the River Thames next to Wallingford bridge, I was surprised when rather than dive from that vantage point it flew sideways and up, hovering 5m above the water before diving. All this within a few metres of the bridge with traffic passing by.

I was very lucky to capture this Hobby eating a dragonfly fly on the wing just a few feet above my head!

Gus loves this time of year because his favourite television programme is on. This year he was able to watch a nest of great tits just hours after his own encounter with one.
