Have a safe and awesome day dear Flickr friends !
This has been a hellish week for the poor crocuses - warm enough to pop up, and then a crushing twenty five degree temperature drop to start the weekend, followed by snow overnight last night. For perseverance alone they deserve a medal. Despite the grim setting of wet snow their hardiness is a shot in the arm in these challenging times. To say nothing of the sad early tulip leaf trying to get in on the action.

Willows in Springtime (with apologies to Claude Monet) at the Slimbridge wetlands centre in Gloucestershire. There are so many willows of many varieties on the nature reserve that even one of the viewing points is called Willow Hide.
Willows, also called sallows and osiers, of the genus Salix, comprise around 350 species (plus numerous hybrids) of typically deciduous trees and shrubs, found primarily on moist soils in cold and temperate regions.
