Workshop on outreach for feral cats in communities, which is content I developed based on a mediation model and my experiences. 2+ hours. Feedback was good and I am glad I only spent about 9 hours prepping it, total, based off a 45 min presentation I did already. I am thrilled that it went well and even more thrilled it's completed and I no longer have it hanging over my head.
- remixed = purple h&m cardigan, navy pleather espadrilles
- new melie bianco tote (I carry tons of stuff, daily)
- h&m floral pattern dress

I'd never made it back to Beasty Feast since then and happened to walk by it the other day. This is the very window that Oneida (aka "Pookie") peered out of when I walked in to see another cat they were hosting for adoption (Mila). Oneida is actually named after the woman at the store who helped take care of her -- her name is actually ONETTA, but the adoption agency told me it was o-NAY-duh, spelled Oneida (which is really oh-NY-duh!).
So, I chose Oneida over Mila, even though Mila had a good-ending near-death rescue story, and was really sweet and adorable. But Oneida stole my heart because she'd had ringworm her entire kittenhood and had no socialization aside from ringworm treatments so she'd flinch when you went to pet her -- and she walked around chewing on all the cat food bags.
I thought, "This fearful mischievous kitten is going to have a hard time getting adopted - I better take her!" The adoption agency thought I'd be a good home for BOTH and tried to get me to adopt 2 at one time but I didn't want to overwhelm my resident cat .
(Hah! if I only knew what my life would be like after 2003, I'd have taken Mila right then and there - especially now knowing she was returned by stupid adopters who thought she was "bad" because she ran around at night and locked her in the bathroom!).
