▶ Hosta are members of the plant family, Asparagales, which includes onion, leeks, garlic, and asparagus. So, of course, I dig 'em. The British call them plantain lilies. I dig that too.

(Proper names: Tulipa gesneriana L. Darwin Hybrid ‘Blushing Apeldoorn’ & the late-flowering ‘Queen of Night’. The insect is not anything I can name – not even close).
Another favourite, when the sun shines through this yellow tulip that is streaked with orange - WOW! It just make my heart stop for a moment. A hardy and easy companion. We keep them with Tulips ‘Queen of Night’ and ‘Gavota’ – an exciting combination and they do not flower at exactly the same time, but there is some overlapping.

Inspired by the well-known forested landscapes in the northeast such as the Catskills and Adirondacks, the Park’s designers created woodlands such as the Ramble and the North Woods to provide opportunities for a more intimate and immersive experience of nature. They made these landscapes specifically for New Yorkers who could not afford a vacation to these places—to offer them an escape from urban life that was closer to home.

I visited the Bowral Tulip Festival (Tulip Time) on 17.9.14 which is very well known for its colorful and wide variety of beautiful tulips and pretty gardens. It is held at Corbett Gardens which is celebrating its official opening 100 years ago in 1914.
Bowral is a beautiful old town in New South Wales, Australia.
Tulip Time is the famous Southern Highland's flower Festival in Bowral.
This year Tulip Time will be celebrating its 54th Annual Festival along with the color Yellow.

I LOVE TULIPS!!
The Darwinhybrids flower for a long time. First they have company of 'Gavota', beautiful in blackcurrant and light yellow. Later on 'Gavota' disappears and this dark beauty takes over. 'Queen of Night' is a fantastic Tulip to mix with others. Just remember that it flowers late compared to many others. My combination here works very well and I'm very pleased with it.
(Proper name: Tulipa gesneriana L. ’Frilly’-flowered group (I think it’s a type of Cottage-tulip) 'Lambada')
This is one of my absolute favourite tulips and I have quite a collection to choose from. Everyone who is a fancier should just get some (if you don’t hate orange)! They are hardy and thrives even in bad (had, dry clay-soil) conditions, but they don't work well in rain :(. My fiancé fell in love with them and I think he bought 8. Today, a few years later, there must be over 30 stems. Perfect and sooo beautiful.
