I'm not exactly sure what to call this area here, but it's outside a Target store in Atlantic Station, it's a grouping of outdoor cement seats under what appears to be acrylic coverings interconnected by gravel and brick paths and landscape.
What I find so intresting about this is that the bright color and open area is a stark contract to what this ground used to be : a grouping of old warehouses and factories that had long been abandoned, this area was recleamed and made to be " a city within a city", a project that started in 2002 by obtaining it's own zip code and phase I completed in 2005, it's still constantly growing with skyscapers and more housing, and shops and restaraunts.
Spotted in the Mission. The corner of Valencia and Liberty was the beginning of a multiple block long chalk assault that must have been something to watch in progress. By the time I got to the block between 19th and 18th, the whole sidewalk was PINK from all the chalk. Impressive. This was probably the most clever thing I read in 4 blocks of scrawled pastel mayhem.
