Jason's B-day weekend 2009

Another splendid spring day in the Yorkshire Dales and on my sanctioned, local, safe bike ride.

Lots to choose from, this one stood out.

My son Tor in the woods, the first real springday this year.

I know I'm fortunate - our rules allow one trip on the bike a day and I'm being so sensible. Stay local, short loops (if only because I may have to walk home) and ride on my own. The silence is now profound and the still, calm weather adds a strange sensation as if the world has slowed and shut down. In a way it has. Askwith Moor Lane and about halfway up the long climb. I don't normally stop at this point but today was slow and so was I for a change.

A brisk, breezy spring day and out on the bike. When that stiff north-westerly hits you it certainly removes all the cobwebs! But the sun is grand and there are hints of spring around.

The Grade 2 Listed Dob Park bridge, a high arch over the River Washburn, sits next to a deceptivly 'shallow' ford! It dates to the early 17th Century.
