SPRING CLEANING! We have been heavy duty scrubbing the floors, dusting, picking up and throwing out lately. Last night, I swept the entire kitchen and that was followed by Jim MOPPING! He mopped the kitchen and the bathroom. It was amazing.

Mopping however involves us moving a bit of furniture out of the way to do a thorough job. This always excites the cats and they seem to claim the tall stool/chairs until they are moved back.

Spring cleaning.

I think I'm trying to use the force to bring the bucket closer...or something.

Ryan was helping me sweep the deck. He was very serious about it.

I decided to do a proper, thorough Spring clean this year and went through the house listing all the jobs that need doing to make the house pristine. Today I'm making a plinth to tidy up the bottom edge of a kitchen unit that has deteriorated.......what fun !

I removed a shelf so they could all stretch out and they are (kind of sort of) arranged by type.

We tried to go here for lunch but it was closed for spring cleaning. With so much snow covering the pool and tennis courts, winter cleaning would have been more like it!

R prepares to wash off his bedroom window, sill, and radiator. I've talked about the black Brooklyn dust that comes in before -- hot water, soap, and a rag seems really primitive, but it does the job. and yes, our apartment's sole phone jack is for some reason installed on the windowsill. this makes little sense to me, as our building was finished during WW2, at which point most American homes had telephones. so it shouldn't be a retrofitting...

I gave my clowns a bit of spring cleaning today, and found a spot for a few pictures I'd acquired but not put on display...
