YouTube photo person "Hunter Creates Things" posted a video recently where he rediscovered those old Zeiss ZF/ZE dSLR lenses from about 20 years ago. I had one of those lenses back then, and while I remember it fondly, I have no desire to become reacquainted with it in 2026, attempting to adapt the big manual focus beasts to my mirrorless bodies. However, I was inspired to go flip through my old Zeiss photos and see if there was anything worth sharing here today. So I found a few, like this one from Palm Springs in 2011, that I updated with a modern edit.
Does this photo exhibit that famous "Zeiss look"? I'm not quite sure, but I wasn't a very good photographer back then, so the fault is entirely my own.

🌸 At last, spring has finally arrived! Nice to finally have some warm weather, plus the cherry blossoms are such a beautiful sight 🌸
I can't really remember what year this was, but I feel it was around 42. what I do recall is it was a lovely if rather chilly spring day and the Germans had decided to leave us alone. I was heading to St James's Palace for some business I can't disclose, as you will understand. It was lovely to see the children playing in the park lovers' walking arm In arm, her wearing her sunday best and him in uniform. the hum of the tethering cables for the barrage balloons vibrating in the breeze just to remind us there was a war on still. have to say I was looking forward to catching up with D for a drink later in the day.

There was a colorful sunrise this morning just before some light rain showers arrived. I do not see such colorful sunrises at my location normally.

Psalm 62:1 Truly my soul silently waits for God;
From Him comes my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be greatly moved
Today was a decidely cold, gray and downright miserable day - one of those days desperately in need of some spring colour.
My daughter came home from a friend's house with a small bag full of these (almost) cubic gummies, and while scarfing a few (sorry, Olivia!) I noticed they were pretty photogenic.
So here you go - some colour for a gray day.
