Spring takes its time to arrive in full force this year - among many other things. But at least the flowers are there.

Spring is a lovely time of year at Chicago Botanic Garden, which has oodles of flowering trees as well as many Willows lining the trails and lakesides. That's a footbridge in bokeh.
A small wasp (NOT wasp - look please RileyWalsh 's comment - It is Nomada bee! ) enjoying the warm sunny day and an abundance of floral nectar. A good sunny Sunday... Spring!

This little herb - chamomile ( Matricaria chamomilla) - really attracts a wide variety of insects. Today I noticed this interesting beetle - the Eurasian bee beetle (Trichius fasciatus). Its name is not accidental, because it definitely looks like a bee, right? Spring by the sea, still cool and with some rain : )
Happy May Day to everyone. . .no one celebrates May 1 anymore like we did as children -- May baskets, singing, dancing around the May pole, a May Queen at school. . . back in the day. . .

When we think of the spring season and nature, we think of beginning warmth, joy, colours, blossoms and bluebells.
Well, here are the bluebells flowers, or in dutch, wilde boshyacint and in latin; Hyacinthoides non-scripta. Found in a field near the water in the Euromast park in Rotterdam.
There are also some daffodils, beautifully shaped trees with their reflections found in this picture.
Enjoy the flora!
Winter is over! (In theory)
In London, the Spring or Vernal Equinox is on
Tuesday, 20 March 2018 at 16:15. In the southern hemisphere it will be the opposite season - the Autumnal Equinox.
It marks the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator, the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth's Equator. Day and Night are approximately equal all over the world at this time. (Equinox means equal night)
Thank you for taking the time to visit, comment, fave or invite. I really appreciate them all.
