SPRING FLOWERS ARE A WELCOME SIGHT FOR GARDENERS, BUT EVEN MORE SO FOR POLLINATING INSECTS..Bumblebees, solitary bees, butterflies and many other pollinators emerge when the weather warms up, but pollen and nectar can be hard to come by. A huge number of plants rely entirely on bees and other insects for pollination, and yet population numbers are declining.

Happy May Day to everyone. . .no one celebrates May 1 anymore like we did as children -- May baskets, singing, dancing around the May pole, a May Queen at school. . . back in the day. . .

Spring Color Cherry Blossoms, Oak and blue sky on this bright Spring day come together for a colorful collage.

Spring is a lovely time of year at Chicago Botanic Garden, which has oodles of flowering trees as well as many Willows lining the trails and lakesides. That's a footbridge in bokeh.

In London, the Spring or Vernal Equinox is on

Tuesday, 20 March 2018 at 16:15. In the southern hemisphere it will be the opposite season - the Autumnal Equinox.

It marks the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator, the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth's Equator. Day and Night are approximately equal all over the world at this time. (Equinox means equal night)

Thank you for taking the time to visit, comment, fave or invite. I really appreciate them all.

SPRING GARDEN FLOWER

I rose this morning early as usual, and went to my desk.

But it’s spring,

and the thrush is in the woods,

somewhere in the twirled branches, and he is singing.

And so, now, I am standing by the open door.

And now I am stepping down onto the grass.

I am touching a few leaves.

I am noticing the way the yellow butterflies

move together, in a twinkling cloud, over the field.

And I am thinking: maybe just looking and listening

is the real work.

Maybe the world, without us,

is the real poem.

Finally spring has sprung in Wisconsin!

People were suntanning outside even though it's only mid-March. New buds growing along a wall decided to pop out of the ground. My own textures added.

Lovely morning walk in the sunshine, spring is bursting out everywhere

This little flower is less than 1/2" across and is one of the first wildflowers to appear in the spring woodland. It is called Carolina Spring-Beauty, and isn't it just!
