The springs have sprung! These bits of metal were sticking up out of the sand this morning after a heavey storm last night. Possibly parts of the old sea defence to save the dunes - sadly now washed away from Exmouth!!

#48 A Backdrop of Sky
A dusting of snow overnight and bright sun made for a very pretty morning... This maple is just starting to show leaf buds, and the clumps of snow looked like cottonballs.
Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone National Park. Be sure to look for the tiny people on the boardwalk; it will give you a sense of scale.
I don't know what kind of tree this is, but I love the fuzzy blossom/seed things - they really catch the light and are beautiful.
Have a great Thursday!

Helianthus is a genus of plants comprising about 70 species. Except for three species in South America, all Helianthus species are native to North America and Central America. The species H. annuus typically grows during the summer and into early fall, with the peak growth season being mid-summer. Perennial sunflower species are not as common in garden use due to their tendency to spread rapidly and become invasive. Sunflowers are usually tall annual or perennial plants that in some species can grow to a height of 300 cm or more. They bear one or more wide, terminal capitula (flower heads), with bright yellow ray florets at the outside and yellow or maroon (also known as a brown/red) disc florets inside. 12165

La multi ani, dragă Cami (fdlscrmn)!
Like this early spring flower gently unfolds its petals, a new year unfolds before you, my dear friend Cami. I wish you health, happiness and beauty all around you in this new year of your life! Happy Birthday :-)))
