I read somewhere that on CET, Spring officially starts at 17:15, so at this moment I want to post a flower to mark this welcome event. The flower is a lotus flower or lily that I photographed in Singapore near the Marina Bay Sands. I really like the way the raindrops lie on the petals.

New growth springs to life in the Willamette Valley.

I have family visit now and for the next 10 days, so posts may be a bit less frequent during this time. I will try my best to comment on your wonderful photos!

This is Spring street in downtown Chambersburg. This was an experiment using the panorama app Photosynth on my iPhone. I walked sideways along the sidewalk instead of just standing and scanning from the normal fixed position. Oh yeah, there are some crazy lines, but it was fun and just the beginning.

I am grateful for the 22 degrees today to start the spring thaw going!

Spring Daffodil.

This was taken at this time on a previous year at my home. Due to the cold winter this we still have snow and the bulbs appear to be a couple of weeks later

You know it's spring when offspring from different species make their emergence, particularly the famous Canadian "baby geese" or goslings

Fresh new leaves give credence to the miracle of Spring. Newborn growth sprouts at the tips of this Texas Cedar Elm near Austin. New beauty, new aromas and new hope for life.

It's still cold but you can see now that spring will come soon.

"And Spring arose on the garden fair,

Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;

And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast,

rose from the dreams of its wintry rest."

This is the first time I am spending my Spring break in a shelter isolating from others except my wife. I am glad to see some flower blossom nearby.

A longer walk into the countryside. A new born lamb. Nesting birds. New shoots. Bluebells. Spring. Sunshine. Warmth. And a happy smile. Life will go on. We'll have good times again.

The Dunedin Botanic Garden is New Zealand's first botanic garden and holds the status of six star Garden of International Significance. ArbNet, the global network for tree-focussed professionals, has accredited the Botanic Garden as level III. The Gardens had its 150th anniversary in 2013. It occupies 30.4 hectares in North Dunedin at an altitude of 25 – 85 metres above sea level. There are more than 6,800 plant species and the song of wild native bellbirds, wood pigeons and tui. And in Spring there are daffodils.

Today a survey came out claiming Dunedin is top city to live in NZ in terms of safety, traffic problems, house prices etc. But no one else in NZ believes it :)

This drone photo was taken, in our back yard, on March 23, 2023, the beginning of spring in our part of the world. The snow, on the level, is about 2 to 3 feet deep. The tracks you see are primarily moose.

Early morning sunlight backlights new spring growth in a Wisconsin woods.

Most spring mornings when my wife and I drive slowly through scenes like this it is very quiet. Often we drive with the windows open and the loudest sounds are the trills of birds you can hear but not see. An occasional deer or other critter sometimes make a brief appearance. The quietness matches our lifestyle at this point of our lives after nearly 50 years together.

Spring has sprung and I've been doing some serious "spring cleaning" but had to take time out to shoot this gorgeous tree at our daughter's house in McKinney and share it.

Have a great week everyone!

Seems like spring goes by so fast it's just a blur sometimes. I don't often do these abstract type images for reasons that should be obvious!

So many migrating songbirds such as this white-crowned sparrow have been caught in another spring snowstorm, which has covered their natural ground seed foraging. They are flocking to the seed feeders in droves.

It is interesting to watch the hierarchy on display among species, as well as dominance among birds-of-a-feather.

This sparrow is waiting atop the feeder for his opportunity.

Not going out for the next few days nasty spring storm about to hit. Going to belt us the form of rain and most likely some severe weather conditions . Upper great lakes are going to get blasted with snow and freezing rain as well as the northern plains states and the southern portions of the western Canadian provinces and Ontario. Calling for blizzard conditions in Nebraska and the Dakotas and northern Minnesota .

Happy Fence Friday! Spring Rhodies provide the background for this shot from our rear patio. I hope all are well on this Mother's Day Friday!

There is a river of spring runoff beside the portage trail from Killarney Lake to Freedom Lake. There are several cascades and the water is very fast and fierce.

This is the last of the cascades just before it flows into Freedom Lake.

Thank you for all of your kind comments, visits, faves and invites. I do appreciate you taking the time to stop by for a wee visit. ♥ =^D

It must be spring, the gummi flowers are in bloom...

Yay!!! I lurrrrve putting on my floral dresses this time of year!

Narcissus is a genus of predominantly spring flowering perennial plants of the amaryllis family, Amaryllidaceae. Various common names including daffodil, narcissus and jonquil are used to describe all or some members of the genus. The species are native to meadows and woods in southern Europe and North Africa with a centre of diversity in the Western Mediterranean, particularly the Iberian peninsula. They are predominantly spring perennial plants. They have conspicuous flowers with six petal-like tepals surmounted by a cup- or trumpet-shaped corona. The flowers are generally white or yellow or orange or pink, with either uniform or contrasting coloured tepals and corona. 11097

today I posted a few pictures to celebrate the profusion of daffodils popping up in my yard.

A few nights of hard frost a couple of weeks ago, put a real hurting on the early spring blooms. It's the first time I can remember that my forsythia bushes didn't bloom. They made a few flowers here and there, but for the most part, nada!.8-(

Now they're starting to leaf out...skipping spring all together.

The blooming trees are fairing no better. The early bloomers all turned brown, and the trees that have bloomed look dull.

The daffodils however, seem to thrive with the cooler temperatures .

They're a welcome pop of color in the landscape.

Sorry I've been M.I.A....too many things to do, not enough hours in my day!

Hope to catch up with everyone soon!

Have a great day Peeps!

In the woods again yesterday, some lovely spring greens to contrast against the oranges and browns.
