Apparently, we have been negligent in cleaning out this old birdhouse in our back yard. Consequently, this House Wren seems to have taken the matter in hand. It's such a tiny little bird but very voluble and energetic - spending all day cleaning house. Bits and pieces of hair, feathers, grasses, and other debris were tossed out, dragged out, and strewn out in all directions. It was fun to watch. All this activity was followed up with much singing and calling.

It seems there is lot's of symbolism around Wrens - the totem enters your life when you are sad and depressed and are unable to cheer yourself up. If their totems are good at something, it's spreading the joy that they have inside of them all around. www.sonomabirding.com/wren-symbolism/

A couple days over 46 years ago GTW Jordan spreader 51077 clears the Cass City subdivision northbound near Deaford, Michigan. This north - south line was prone to heavy drifting from all the adjacent farm fields at cuts and tree rows, here plowing thru a 4 foot drift on January 28, 1979.

My first visit to Arcow Quarry coincided with the visit of 60085 which was working the 6M31 0953 from Hunslet in Leeds.

A handful of 1Z10 photographers can be spied from my drones position, the guys managed to bag some decent shots at this venue having spread themselves around to cover all angles .

For your viewing pleasure i have cloned out a bright white small transit van which was parked in exactly the wrong place.

Both Coyotes and White-tailed Jackrabbits (hares despite the name) are very skittish when sighting cars in the open fields of the Manitoba prairie farmland, even at great distances. These big hares are especially skittish in large groups where one hare's fears spread to all quickly.

I spotted 2 coyotes running away in a field at a great distance but saw a chance of using a farmhouse and its shelterbelt as a blind to get a closer running shot. On arrival at a conducive spot at the far edge of the shelterbelt, my car inadvertently scattered a large group of White-tailed Jackrabbits previously well off the road in the shelterbelt.

I found it fascinating that the second coyote, when it emerged in view, ran right through a group of the hares, most of which paid little or no attention to the dangerous predator. Here you see 8 hares nearby and only one is running (and not all-out in panic). The coyote had already passed many more, some within 4-5 feet. Both sides were evidently more concerned about my car than each other.

There is little doubt what the 2 coyotes were doing before seeing my car: looking for some tasty hare meat.

You don't see this every day, as the cliche goes!
