This flower might also be called a spooned daisy, African daisy, or a caped daisy from what I can tell on garden.org

FQs of all the Heather Ross spoon flower fabrics. I'm not a pink girl but I'm smitten with the pink/yellow/grey combo.
Christine thank you so much for organising this purchase.
Not as fabulous as the trio of spoon flowers by Eiona Roberts (check them out in Not A Vase), but still pretty happy with this image. The spoon is sitting on a Mother's Day card from Caitlin, and the flower is from the plant she gave me for the same occasion.

I wasn't really happy with last weeks photo but this was my original intention for a spoon flower.
I used a computer monitor to backlight plastic spoons with polarised light, then a circular polariser filter on the lens to achieve this effect.
Week 3 in Redo52: Spoon.
I didn't manage to get the things I needed for my original shot, so will save this technique for next week. I did find this (truly horrible) metal flower made from spoons while searching for the other supplies.
I realise I need to get some more backgrounds, the reflective surfaces of the spoon show up everything and the coloured background didn't look right so reluctantly used the same one as last week.
Don't think I have got this quite right so welcome any suggestions (also let me know if you want a metal spoon flower!)
Zippers on shoulders, black cotton neckline and shoulders, spoon flower organic knit with my design :)
Originating from the South Western parts of the USA and Northern Mexico, this rare and unusual plant for the UK is flowering for the first time for the Royal Horticultural Society at Hyde Hall.
Similar in look to Yucca and Agave, Dasylirion belongs to the family Asparagaceae therefore more commonly related to the common asparagus.
In it's native homelands the vertical flowering stem can reach heights of 4-5 metres.
Typically these plants flower after 15 years. This one,was planted a few years old in 2011.
The basal parts are fermented to produce Sotol, an alcoholic drink similar to Tequila and Mescal from the more Southern parts of Mexico.
