This is meant as a replica of a 16th Century Sultan Bolkiah Mahligai Barge. This ceremonial barge was completed in 1967 to mark the 1,400 anniversary of Nuzul Al-Quran, which is a holiday commemorating the day when the words of the Quran were first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad.
"The Spiritual Warrior is a person who challenges all fear, lies, false beliefs, and judgments that create suffering and unhappiness in his or her life. It is a war that takes place in the heart and mind of a man or woman. The Spiritual Warrior faces this challenge with the clarity and awareness that this war is fought within himself and that Truth and unconditional love are on the other side of these battles." - Gi ❤
"I'm at the borderline of my faith
I'm at the hinterland of my devotion
I'm in the front line of this battle of mine." - Sade ♫
I thought to myself "I bet years ago Native Americans lived here" and in reading some of the local guide information they certainly did.
From Wikipedia
Paleo-Indians, the earliest indigenous peoples, lived in the valley and the heights by 10,000 BC as evidenced by archaeological artifacts such as Clovis points. A succession of prehistoric cultures developed, with the Adena culture beginning the construction of numerous skilled earthwork mounds and enclosures more than 2000 years ago. Some of the villages of the Fort Ancient culture survived into the times of European contact.
Perched on top of a hillock is Hyderabads famous Shrine of Hazrat Ali, followers from far and wide come here to pay their floral tributes and invoke the first Shia Imam for blessings.Beneath the Shrine at the foothills is the Shrine of his brave son Hazrat Abbas ..This is my new series I visited Hyderabad almost 5 years back, pictures shot on negatives. The first time I came to Hyderabad to shoot Ashura all by myeslf ,than I came again to shoot the Chehlum, this time with my wife Afshaan.Hyderabad the fabulous city of the Nawabs is grandeur personified , the people of Hyderabad , absolutely honest, hospitable and even the poorer lot totally humble. For the Shias of Hyderabad Moharam is a way of Life , almost Life itself. The Hyderabadi Moharam fervour is a collective ethos of spirtuality.Azadri E Hussain , is awesome here in Hyderabad.Only black shirts and clothes for the mourning period that lasts 2 months , and eight days.I was lucky to have met Sajjad Bhai a Shia cop who was my host , who really opened doors , I have never seen a Momin like him, he carried my camera bag , while I scourged behind the Bibi Ka Alam.I was new to photography , so there are flaws but I am sure you will see the brighter side of a culture , the moods the vagaries of Shia timelessness.Forgive me but I continue with the Shia pilgrimage .Showing you Shiasm captured from a lens of a poet..and street philospher .I tweaked this as it was quite blurry , but man bowing to a greater divinity a thought poetically focussed showing his vulnerability and mortality .

This morning I saw a few Idd Pictures in our newspapers, and I think this picture I took in sheer humility speaks not of Idd this year but Idds to come in future years for this little guy..nurtured on love , good upbringing in his eyes you see the greater glory of man in the splendor of his omnipresent Faith Islam.
Yes unscarred Islam, a Islam that was the Word of God and no that of a Rogue Mullah.
Islam as seen through the Lives of the Holy Prophet, Islam as seen on the sands of Karbala , martyred but palpitatingly alive 1400 years.
Islam is so much and more.Idd is not just hugging , Idd is a symbol of eternal Peace of Humanity.
As a photographer poet Idd is a message I send through my Photo Blog.Idd Namaz is the callisthenics of our spirtuality , I am afraid I could have shown it with a single picture..but with my shortcomings I posted 127 all at Flickr a few at Bloggerspot and Word Press.
The Press photographer who shouted Fuck Off to me was old enough to be the age of my son, this was his upringing his hate that came into play and yes Indians hate Indians pers se.
One day perhaps he like his other Press photographer brothers will read the writing on the wall..
You can fool the readers with crappy pictures some times but not all times.
Photography is not just pictures , photography is wordless poetry that one reads when one sees a picture..
This will remain etched on my heart and soul, the defiance and the confusion in the childs eyes on the changes in Islam bought by a few disgruntled morbid apostates.
And the hands holding him as the preciousness of Islam -The Muslim Child.
Above his head is a hand that was making him turn towards camera but for me it is a hand of the Unseen Lord ever protecting his loved ones..
Idd Mubarak to all of you..

Soon after the fast , all the Muslim kids from nearby tenements , chawls slums, come to Ashish Shelars Ganpati pandal for games like housy and enjoy themselves , they win prizes too.
Keeping respect for Ramzan Ashish Shelr has his arti after Tarabi.. a thought that has endeared him to all, Ashish Bhai as we all call him gives respect to the spirtual sentiments of the peoples religiosity..
Though he represents the BJP Party , though in an area dominated by Muslim slums, nobody can ever accuse Asish Shelar of playing with the religious emotions of the people of this area called Bandra Reclamation..
I have a great respect for the humility of this grass root stalwart of life..So his pandal I shot much before it was ready, I shot his pandal as it was built from scratch.. it gave me a lot of joy...and I can see it from my house window too..
He his wife and their son Omkar are part of everyone's life in Bandra.
In total there are more than 800 identified ruins spread around many miles of desert within Wupatki National Monument.
All the dwellings were built by the Anasazi and Sinagua Indians during the 12th and 13th centuries - the habitation of this region was influenced by the eruption of nearby Sunset Volcano during the winter of 1064-5, as the resulting ash and lava made the surrounding land infertile and so the residents of that region moved further afield into desert areas previously considered too dry and barren. In the early 13th century all the settlements were abandoned, as were most other villages in this part of the Southwest, although it is believed that some of the present day Hopi are descended from the former inhabitants of the Wupatki pueblos.
This is an image of Lomaki Pueblo ("pretty house"), almost 7 miles northwest of Wupatki, was built on the edge of a 3/4-mile-long earth crack in the 1190s.
Please treat these structures with great respect.
One of the most peaceful places is Dargah of Haji Waris Ali Shah .
The Holy Saint was a devout follower of Imam Hussain and there is a Imambargah in the Dargah complex .
He is also known as Waris Pak or Waris Piya ..
If I am in Lucknow I visit his Dargah ..find spirtual solace and serenity .
About Waris Pak
Waris Ali Shah (Urdu: حاجی وارث علی شاہ, Hindi: हाजी वारिस अली शाह) or Sarkar Waris Pak (Urdu: سرکار وارث پاک, Hindi: सरकार वारिस पाक) (1819-1905) was a Sufi saint from Dewa, Barabanki, India, and was the founder of the Warsi order of Sufism. He travelled widely in the west and admitted people to his spiritual order.[1] His shrine is situated at Dewa, India.[2][3]
An urs, or death anniversary, locally known as Dewa mela is observed in October–November. It is attended by nearly a million Muslims and Hindus.[6][14][15][16] It is said that this fair was started by Haji Waris Ali Shah in memory of his father, Qurban Ali Shah. Another fair is held beside the tomb of Haji Waris Ali Shah on the first of the Muslim month of Safar every year.[17]
I wasn't intending to upload any Asha pictures for while but I was working on this photo for a photo book I'm doing on Asha and I was pleased with the words so decided to upload it while it is fresh in my mind...lol
Mindful and patient, Zen awaits on-high for any challenger that would climb the 10,000 steps to the top of it's temple.
---------------------
Well that's it for Slizer MOCs for now. I held Zen back until last because I think it's the most interesting of the three.
At first I was going for a cloud theme Slizer, with Bhudda vibe.
Then I took some influence from Zenyatta's special from Overwatch (EDIT; 'experience tranquility', thank you Dead Frog!) , where he grows spiritual additional arms.
Lastly I tried to get the colours right and after some experimentation I settled on the final design, which ditched the cloud motif altogether to focus on the Bhudda vibe.
---------------------
Here's the fourth idea that I eventually abandoned. I wanted the throwing arm to be like a tongue, but it's not available in red and I just couldn't quite sell the look. I like the frog vibe though, and might return to work more on this if I ever do more Slizers.

I have explored the length and breadth of Jerusalem since I can remember myself, and frankly never been in 'direct touch' with its long-dated private history as was touching these ancient trees. It's no wonder, then, that Thomas Jefferson regarded them as the richest gift of heaven.
There is something especially spirtual to me to spend quiet time early in the morning at a place this lovely in the middle of a large urban area.

Very special lighting occurred during summer monsoons. I feel very privileged to have been present when these events were taking place!
Published on 1X.com, the major sentiment was 'spirtual'. I kinda like that!

Much like traditional homes, even churches in the Faroes can have turf roofs. This one happens to be in Skálavík, a small village of less than 200 on the eastern coast of Sandoy. The town is home to a couple of famous Faroese authors, although honestly, famous by Faroese stands is unknown by global standards. The church itself was built way back in 1891.
There's not a ton of villages to see on Sandoy. Within a span of about 20 minutes you can drive from the ferry port in Skopun, through Magn, and into Skalavik. Of course, add some time to walk around a bit, but overall, that's like half the island. Add in time to drive to a couple more remote villages if you like, and you have yourself a nice little day trip.
