Highbridge Water Tower

Highbridge Park, Washington Heights

Recently restored and once again open for tours. The water tower was built in 1872 to deliver water to the residents of northern Manhattan. The water was from the Croton Aqueduct System which brought water into Manhattan. A wonderful bit of New York City history.
