Inspired from Whole Foods CEO John Mackey's excellent speech about Spiral Dynamics entitled “The Upper Flow of Human Development.”

 

I really like how Mackey describes each value system meme with bulleted lists describing the unique Characterstics, How they Make Decisions, Education, Family, Community & Life Space.

 

The only problem with the layout of all of this information in a linear fashion is that it has been really hard to compare and contrast the different vMemes with each other. That was why I created a Cheat Sheet Graphic with all of the six categories and characteristics in one big massive table.

„Stufen” (Ebenen/Levels) bezieht sich auf die Tatsache, dass sich alles in Stufen entwickelt. Wie Source Integral schrieb: "Nach 30 Jahren von hauptsächlich aus Harvard stammender Forschung (z.B. Kegan, Cook-Greuter, Kohlberg, Gilligan, Piaget, Loevinger) herrscht weitgehender akademischer Konsens, dass sich das menschliche Bewusstsein in Stufen entwickelt, entlang vorhersagbarer, messbarer, stabiler Ebenen und Linien. Das Bewusstsein entwickelt sich in Richtung größerer Komplexität. Auf jeder Stufe ist man in der Lage, weitere und mehr Perspektiven zu halten, in der Lage komplexere Probleme zu lösen und größere Zeiträume überblicken. "Levels/stages" relate to the fact that everything develops in levels. As Source Integral wrote: "After 30 years of mostly Harvard-based research (e.g., Kegan, Cook-Greuter, Kohlberg, Gilligan, Piaget, Loevinger), there is strong academic consensus that the human mind organizes and develops in levels along predictably stable lines, levels and lines that can be measured. The mind develops toward greater complexity. At each level you are able to hold progressively more perspectives, able to solve more complex problems, and can visualize longer time horizons. These levels are not personality “types”; they are qualitative shifts in the complexity a mind can manage."

In our work we take these research results into account when offering our visualization work and cross level communication products.

Graphic Recording is the documentation of a speaker’s or group’s content with the purpose of facilitating shared understanding, insight and learning – using a large wall sized or digital chart. Your conference or meeting will be (usually live in real time) visualized, in order to create a useful documentation for participants and/or the public: Visual minute-taking with a spot landing right at the end of the event.

 

It is especially useful to support the insight and transformation of a group of participants, and to make the event's main points valuable long beyond the actual event.

 

This visual was done by integral facilitator Mahias Weitbrecht from Visual Facilitators (www.visualfacilitators.com), a Germany-based team working world wide to support change and transformation.

About his presentation: The world is experiencing unprecedented levels of change. Economic ideologies that defined our past are becoming outdated. Technological disruptions are rendering entire industries obsolete replacing them with superior, less expensive products with less than 10% the human input. Social finance networks are replacing traditional banks. Walls to hierarchies are being demolished. Advancements in scalable green technologies are putting the fossil fuel industry out of business. 3-D printing presents an ominous threat to globalization.

Can the confluence of all these disruptions, and the urgency to solve climate change lead to a better understanding of humanity or would it magnify the fault lines that have long divided us? Is the capitalist model just an artificial Orange construct that has outlasted its use or will it evolve with the changing times and become a new guide for an integral economy?

9th March 2012 - Just back from my spiraldynamics course and startin up my trusted MacBook …. and this is what I see and I like it day after day …. I wonder what the new software upgrade will bring …?

I cannot believe another week has passed but I had a great afternoon today creating a new project tool, have a guess … using Excel. Did I say it before - I love Excel and all it's possibilities and opportunities. Now I will have a look out for what my Flickr friens were up to. See you tomorrow again.
