recently on a photo-walk in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There was something about this building that caught my attention...it brings to mind a cross between a spike lee film, such as 'crooklyn' and a wes anderson film 'the royal tenenbaums'...because of the association i named it "chapter II"

Brooklyn Museum's "Spike Lee: Creative Sources" exhibit. All the items in the exhibit are from Spike Lee's personal collection and he collected so many things: sports memorabilia, paintings, photographs, movie posters, also there's a section on his family portraits.
Some of the staff/guards in the the exhibit were wearing these shirts. I asked this young man if I could take a photo of the back of his shirt.
This shot reminded me of scenes from an old Spike Lee film, She’s Gotta Have It circa 1986.

I was hired to photograph a charity event for children's literacy on Saturday, which featured the likes of actor John Lithgow, director Spike Lee, and sex therapist (!) Dr. Ruth. For all photos from the event, see www.flickr.com/photos/carpeicthus/tags/booksforkids
I love Marvin Gaye, and this verse come's from one of my favorite songs.
Combined with the images--hands-up, hoodie, black-lifeless body...
Seen at the Brooklyn Museum as a part of Spike Lee's exhibition.
This artwork moved me.
I wrote a poem back in the day when I was in High School, "Remember Clifford Glover" I can't find the poem, but I remember a few lines which echoed a similar message as Marvin's song .
"To make people aware, it takes death by a gun--maybe we'll get justice but we'll have too few sons."
My poem, not written as eloquently as Marvin's but I felt compelled to write it after witnessing countless shootings of unarmed black men, anger, frustration & protest ensuing--and then silence.
I remember Clifford Glover, and the cop who shot him because of the poem. December of last year, a street in Queens was renamed after him (a dedication 50 years later).
My photography includes photos of places--homes, churches, business etc. that display the BLM signs

Erst Tai Chi Chuan und dann mit einem Döner auf der Hand eine Folge "Nola Darling" schauen. Die Serienfassung des großartigen Spike Lee Films "She´s gotta have it" von 1986. Den Film fand ich damals schon super. Wunderbar, dass der selbe Spike Lee hieraus eine Serie gemacht hat.
