Mondello, Palermo - Italy
Mondello is a fishing village with a magnificent white sand beach near Palermo, it is famous not only for its blue sea but also for its heritage of its numerous Art Nouveau villas that characterize the architecture of the place, making it an important point of reference for the history of international modernism.
These buildings (many by the famous architect Ernesto Basile) are among the best examples of Art Nouveau architecture in Italy and Europe.

Mondello è un borgo di pescatori con una magnifica spiaggia di sabbia bianca vicino Palermo, è famoso oltre che per il suo mare azzurro anche per il suo patrimonio delle sue numerose ville in stile Liberty che caratterizzano l'architettura del luogo, rendendolo un importante punto di riferimento per la storia del modernismo internazionale.
Queste costruzioni (molte ad opera del celebre architetto Ernesto Basile) sono tra i migliori esempi dell'architettura dell'Art Nouveau in Italia e in Europa.

Le spiagge non sono tutte uguali. E' sufficiente un rapido sguardo alla flora che vi si è insediata per comprendere la natura geologica della sua sabbia o dei suoi ciottoli, non meno che quella del suo clima o microclima. Le spiagge sarde della costa orientale sono, da questo punto di vista, speciali, perché coniugano la sabbia derivata dalla disgregazione del granito rosso ad una flora mediterranea e tropicale. The Spiaggia Lunga is nestled within the northern coastal stretch of the municipality of Piombino. It is a beautiful beach of light stones and pebbles, characterized by a narrow, irregular and jagged coastline, edged by rocky cliffs dotted and surrounded by Mediterranean species. The place has a great uncontaminated and wild charm and does not offer any type of service. The sea is beautiful, with shades from emerald green to turquoise, crystalline, transparent and with pebbly seabed, ideal for swimming and bathing.
