I was invited to a taping of the fabulous show "Spectacle: Elvis Costello" last night. Elvis' guest was none other than Bruce Springsteen and it was an experience I will never forget. Just watching how comfortable onstage Bruce is even when the cameras aren't rolling was a trip. And there were some REAL moments of musical brilliance. Here is what I remember:
Point Blank (Elvis)
Like Rain (Nils)
She's the One (Elvis)
Wild Billy's Circus (Bruce, Nils and Roy)
The River (Bruce)
American Skin (Bruce)
Galveston Bay (Bruce)
Pretty Woman (Bruce & Elvis)
I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down (Bruce & Elvis)
Brilliant Disguise (Elvis)
Black Ladder (Bruce, Nils and Elvis)
The Rising (Bruce & Elvis)
Seeds (Bruce & Elvis)
Radio Nowhere/Radio, Radio (Bruce & Elvis)
A gaudy specatcle (made even gaudier through HDR manipulation) during the Cedar Key 4th of July Golf Cart Parade. I'm not sure what's more disconcerning; the young girl in the bikini or the fact that she's standing shoeless on the hood of a moving golf cart while throwing candy.
